Wednesday – I spy with my little eye – Mini contest (95)

I read a quote this week about the English language that put a smile on my face.

I don't know about you, but I think he was spot on!

Let’s take a look at last week’s clues.

1. It is an 11-letter word starting with “W”
2. It is an adjective
3. It is a behaviour
4. Can have bad consequences if it continues

The correct word is WRONGHEADED!

When you are wrongheaded, your ideas, conclusions, and judgments are not right for the situation or outcome you want and it can be bad for you if you continue with it.

With all the elections this year, we can make the following sentence with it:
"The party leader admitted after the election that the party manifesto might have been wrongheaded and not right for the current economic situation."

In other words, it was actually silly and inappropriate, and it can have severe consequences for the party.

The game “I spy with my little eye” is sort of a detective game. The “spy” is the person who sees something, and the rest of the players must then guess what the spy is seeing.

Of importance, it must be something that you can see and not something you can feel, like an emotion.

BUT, “I spy with my little eye” is so much more than just a spy game;

• It is a thinking game
• It teaches you how to use your logic and reasoning and
• It grows your vocabulary

For today, I am going to give you the letter with which the word starts plus 4 points, or “clues,” that you can take into consideration to figure out what the word can be.
