How I love to hear the idiomatic expression "brain box." It starts with the illustration "the brain" behind a certain thing. Whenever a great fit is being achieved, you'll hear people saying that the result was achieved through a particular person who is the brain.
As we know, the brain controls our thoughts, emotions, feelings, actions etc. So now talking about the brain box, for those who own or know about a car, the brain box controls the engine of the car. For the sake of the contest, let's look at the topic in depth.
If you are married, would you like your kids to be so smart that they can be referred to as a brain box? |

Of course, yes, who does not want to have smart and intelligent children? Would you want your kids to be dull or average? Nope, I don't want my children to be average. I was an average child in school. So I would want them to be extremely intelligent and smarter than I was.

The "brainbox" is a very clever, wise, intelligent and smart person. Any of the words above can be used to describe a person who is usually called a "brain box."
A person who is usually called a "brain box" is not just clever about a particular topic or subject, they're usually versatile and knowledgeable about everything. So they're not just called the name for nothing.

In my university days, we had such a person in my class. She was so intelligent and smart. She was loved by everyone because of the level of her intelligence. She bagged a First class degree which even the lecturers in my department queried about that she can't be awarded because they themselves never bagged a First class degree.
Currently, I have a friend and a colleague of mine who I can describe as a "brain box." She is also a stemian. She is so versatile and knowledgeable about everything. I mean she's not limited in any subject you present to her at all. She's @realitytrend. What I love about her is that she may not look like it, but don't dare her.

I mean someone who was a core science student in high school. She chose to divert to art at her university, and she's still doing great. She's an eloquent speaker and a prolific writer both on steemit and her other works.

It's simple, do a lot of research, study hard, don't be limited to just a field. Spread your tentacles, desire to know more and work towards achieving it, then the sky will only be a starting point.

I just heard of such word first time. It appears to me just "jack of all trade master of none". In advance country a specialist don't bother about anything and feel unnecessary if it doesn't relevant to his field of specialisation or personal interest. The world is full of traps if one is attracted by multiple irrelevant thing he finally land up no where nor can reach to the top. So try to be focused and specific towards your goal of lfe. This is my personal view. I enjoyed reading your post and came to know about your Steemian friend. Wish your success in the dynamic.
The brain box is an idiomatic expression that is usually refered to very smart people who are knowledgeable about almost everything. They may have their specific purpose and focus but they have ideas about other aspects of life.

Hello friend well said, it is very possible for any one to become brain box if only the person is determined to discipline himself to learning and studying. Reading too much doesn't affect the mental health it is not having enough sleep and depression that does that. i am telling you this from personal experience.
