The Diary Game: [04/05/2024] Saturday, Holy matrimony of Sister Esther & Bro Aniedi ; Now Mr/Mrs Aniedi

On this day we (we, that is our choir) were invited as usual to an occasion, to be precise a celebration of love, each time I am invited to a celebration like this it reminds me of a day in life when I will put a ring in her finger as an expression of love (future wife), I am not desperate but it is just a thought the reoccurs in my mind. So we managed to locate the venue where the wedding was supposed to be held. It was just a stone's throw from my worship centre, still the same denomination “Assemblies of God”. We were officially invited so we had a special sit at the Occasion.

This is the second wedding I attended this year and it has been the most colourful so far when I entered the venue I was captivated by the pattern of decoration, I have been seeing this on different wedding occasions but it has been a while, I captured the front view and the view from the top while the wedding was yet to begin.

After this was a short prayer by the officiating minister followed by a short praise session, if this wedding was held in my church like the previous ones which I attended we would have led in the praise session but this time around the residence choir led that session and then it was time for the couple to match in, the first procession began with the groom matching in with his group of men(the groomsmen). They looked so colourful, young men with high prestige, well dressed. I think I should imitate them because they look responsible.

The next procession began and this time we were to match in with the bride since she was one of us, she was the one who invited us so we were here to honour her and the husband deserves this honour too. So I rushed to give someone my phone to capture this moment when we danced so well but all that he captured was blurt, l wasn't impressed so I moved on because there was nothing I could do, it's a day of joy and I wouldn't let things like this tamper with my joy. The bride finally reached her place and sat down to receive the word, the word was for everyone and the minister to handle this session was my pastor, the sectional leader Rev. Pastor Joseph Udo, his message is always brief with important points that help every good listener.

It was time for the couple to be joined together in holy matrimony, and this session was led by the district superintendent. I can’t recall his name but I must say that this couple is highly favoured to be honoured by the Uyo East superintendent. The vows were made among themselves, and a token to zeal the marriage was shared among the couple(the ring).

Another dance session began this time around and it required so much energy. Sweats came so much this time but it was felt because everyone was happy. A powerful prayer was also rendered upon the couples by both parents, the groom's parents prayed for their child and so did the bride's parents. Then it was time to try out some photographs, the photograph is a reflection of how beautiful the Occasion was. I even took some photos from the window.

Lastly in Nigeria, if you leave an occasion without eating it will seem like a waste of time, after filling myself with so much knowledge and a new pattern of how marriage is conducted, I ate to my satisfaction like I said earlier we were officially invited so we were officially served as a uniformed choir. It ended peacefully, and successfully.
