HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! 🌹............ NW Cascade Wanderings

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there! 💐🌹💐

Our day began at church. Our pastor and his son were on a ‘baseball’ coming of age trip down the West coast and back. They were attending major league baseball games with the teams being at ‘home’ for the games as far south as San Francisco and of course Seattle’s Mariners. They were to be in the redwood forest today, Seattle’s game tomorrow and back home late tomorrow night. So, that left his wife to preach. Normally, she leads an awesome worship set. I was curious how today would be. Well, I wasn’t disappointed and even a little surprised. She did an outstanding job with the sermon and was sometimes downright funny. She preached the Word and well! 😇 After church, they had all of the moms move through a line to choose 5 flower picks and one of the youth would wrap them up. The young man who wrapped mine had never wrapped flowers before, so I showed him how. It was a team effort!😁

We came home for a bit and then headed to My Garden, a local nursery and so much more! Their trademark is a purple flamingo that of which you can purchase as well for your garden. There are micro boutique type items there as well as locally sourced edibles. Even an in house kitty 🐈‍⬛ for petting!

I got a couple of plants and then we headed for Lowe’s. I was looking for an affordable Potentilla plant. None to be had. So I found an air plant and a small Wandering Jew plant and in purchasing those, they also gave me a 4 pack of petunias for Mother’s Day! How very nice! I was not expecting that.

Then we headed to Walmart as their .com said that they had Potentilla for $9.99! Great-except they didn’t have any. 😔 So, my journey continues for that.

All in all a nice day!

Last night’s Aurora Borealis was a real disappointment. Here’s a picture from Friday night…..

There was nothing!

We stayed up a little while and went back out a second time but no lights. We have a skylight over our bed and I woke up several times and checked out the view through it hoping to see something but to no avail. They had said it might be visible tonight, however there was some light cloud cover out to the west late this afternoon, so we will have to see how that affects things. I’m not really sure hopeful, but maybe I’ll be surprised!
