Steem Representative Weekly report #5 from [12th-18th May 2024]
Steem greetings all the way from the motherland-Cameroon, and welcome to my blog as I present my 5th report as the Steem Representative.
It was an awesome week performing my tasks as a Steem representative though encountered some issues but find a way to overcome them.
That said, below I will be talking about the different activities carried out across the platform.
Steemit Promotion.
The previous weeks I had anticipated promoting Steemit using my personal Facebook account with almost 3k followers. I had engaged with @saxopedia to use his graphic design skills to make flyers for my daily promotion of steemit on my Facebook account. Unfortunately, his laptop got bad.
This week I got to another person to do the flyers and he did one and encountered blackouts in his neighbourhood coupled with 4 days of lockdown imposed by separatists fighters.
I used the flyer to create a reel and also created a posts on facebook. Promotion was also done on face to face basis and the post and reel insights could be seen below.
The insights were not good but I believe if I continue with time, I will definitely gained more insights.
I equally joined with @thegreens and @fombae to host a Steemit workshop at @yemsgroup over the week. It was an opportunity to talk about Steemit, encouraged them to joined the platform. More about the workshop could be read on this Post Link
Due to our promotion activities, the following were monitored to create their accounts. We monitor and guide them on their accounts using a WhatsApp group. The following new users are part of our promotion campaign this week;

Activities in Steem Cameroon Community.
It is a routine that every week we meet online and discuss on how to better managed the community and top on the agenda this week was to develop three creative topics for the engagement challenge season 18 application. During the meeting, each member was allowed to state their challenges over the previous week and we all try to bring solutions to the problems brought forth. Unfortunately, we were not selected for the engagement challenge season 18 but we are still hopeful for a better opportunity in the next season.
As a Mod in the community, I reviewed articles posted within the community. It was done only on convenient days I could do it. It was also an opportunity to guide some users on the use of the wrong tags and poor presentation of content without the proper use of markdown. During review, I noticed some users do not yet master how to effectively used their voting manna. I had to advice them on how to efficiently and effectively use their voting manna appropriately to support other users. It was also a medium to call the attention of some users practicing self upvoting.
With the use of chat GPT to create content easily on the platform and abuse the proof of brain mechanism, I had to ensure I run all articles reviewed with the Zerogpt app. I considered any content recording above 70% to be generated by Chat GPT.
As a plagiarism leader and actively fighting all forms of abuse on the community, I had to ensure that content creators create quality content free from any form of abuse on steemit. During this period, no plagiarized content was recorded. We hope steemians continues to create plagiarized free content and proper use of non-copyrighted images.
To keep users busy and create original content, I organise a weekly contest in which users are tasked to share their greatest challenges as a chef. The price for the contest was 15 SP and for outstanding content, a booming vote to encourage them. I equally included winners for bigchef06 series and proof of their prices send to their wallets.
Content Creation.
It was another amazing week for me to stay active on the platform by creating quality content across different communities on the platform.
Within this period, I was able to create a total of 7 articles. Two of which were engagement challenges in other communities.
The other three contents I created were the daily diary and application for June community curators as seen on this screenshot from steem world.
Curation with SC05 Account.
My curation day was on Tuesday 14th May 2024 and Saturday 18th May 2024 as I used the account to support content creators across several communities.
During curation, several articles were supported as well as skipped due to either no club status, poor quality of content not respecting Steemit rules, etc.
I strictly followed the curation guidelines of the team 2 curation team. I checked for plagiarism-free content, supported users not using bot buying services and those following either club5050, club75 or Club100.

Support Other Content Creators with @chant Account.
I used my effective Steem power of over 40k to support steemians with quality content on the platform.

Preference was given to authors using the tag burnsteem25. I equally supported other articles across the platform. Over the week, I reached out to 108 accounts and upvoted 197posts with a CSI score of 15.2.
Guiding Newbies Via WhatsApp .
I guided some steemians via whatsapp requesting guidance on the platform, and how they can improve on their performance. I shared some tips on being consistent, focusing on creating quality content, and engaging with other users by making engaging comments thereby building an audience for their content.
As a starter do not focus more on the reward else they will be frustrated because votes are not guaranteed. They should focus on creating quality blogs.
Challenges Faced
The major challenge was that I could not meet up with face to face Steemit promotion because of 4 days lockdown imposed on us by the separatists fighters. Movement has been restricted for 4 days
