Betterlife, The Diarygame, (12 April 2024) | Finally I Met My Father Who Was In A Coma

Today, as usual, I am grateful that I can still enjoy today.}

Since finding out that my father was in an accident and was unconscious and being treated at a large hospital in Banda Aceh, since then I have returned to my hometown and celebrated Eid there. The distance to the hospital was too far and there were limitations in several ways, so even until the second Eid I had not had time to visit my father who was lying in a coma in the hospital, and on the third Eid, in the morning when all conditions allowed me to step on the gas to the hospital as soon as possible.

This morning I, my 8 month old baby and my husband dared to cross the Sumatra highway to Banda Aceh on a motorbike. We left at around half past nine in the morning. I brought some baby equipment and also for both of us. This trip takes at least 6 hours and we have to refuel at the Geudong gas station.

We also stopped at several places and rested. We put our baby's comfort first and we are grateful that God simplified our journey. We had breakfast and also enjoyed cold sugar cane juice and grilled sticky rice. The weather is very hot and this will make us feel better.

It turns out we just realized that today is Friday. So, when we arrived at Padang Tiji we saw rows of trains and cars parked in the yard of the mosque. We stopped for a moment and then continued our journey back.

The fuel was almost out, we looked for a gas station that was operational again after Friday prayers and then we found it at the Sare gas station. I thought this was Jantho, which indicated our journey would soon be over, but apparently not.

Because finally my husband stopped for a moment and rested, while my baby and I played together. Along the way he just fell asleep in my lap and I couldn't wait to meet my beloved father. There may be confusion because this place is not what it used to be. 😁

After about half an hour of my husband resting, we finally set off again. Indeed, there are rest posts provided by the government along the way because it is still Eid, but the distance is still too far.

Thank God, finally after 8 hours of travel we arrived in the city of Banda Aceh. The atmosphere of the city is very different from my hometown there. This is the intersection of five and we just need to look for the intersection where the Meuraxa Hospital where my father is being treated is located.

Finally, after we were relieved to arrive, we took a break to look for lunch. Even though it was late, we had to eat before going to the hospital because we didn't eat lunch earlier. Not many shops were open because it was still the Eid atmosphere, but after getting tired of searching, we finally stopped by and immediately ordered the food we wanted to eat.

After eating, we looked for Meuraksa hospital using the application. Understandably, we don't really recognize big cities because of their rapid development. Thank God, before sunset I arrived and my sister was waiting for me at the gate. I went straight to my father's room, which turned out to be on the second floor. I arrived and immediately saw the condition of my father who was lying in a coma. He responded when I found him and said I had come to visit him and every now and then he tried to open his eyes and tears fell from his eyes which I interpreted ashe knows that I am beside him.

Not long after sunset, my father's neurosurgeon came and checked my father's condition. He also removed the tube connected to the bomb-like place on his head, which doctors said was an infection. And no change occurred during these 10 days. The doctor just encouraged us and did his best after that.
