Do you know, I keep asking myself why I never discovered steemit many years back? I really blame myself. Steemit is a blessing to me as a freelancer, because I've worked on various sites and still, I haven't got satisfaction like I have on steemit.
Talking about social media engagement, is there any social media I haven't joined since the introduction of Facebook and the likes? I mean I have joined many if not all, but none offered me a dime or hope of any payment, but this steemit brought all the joy, happiness, blessing and the hope I'd wanted for years online.

While signing up, I didn't expect much, although my students at the school I'm teaching, who introduced me, assured me that I'd surely love it and make something out of it, and I was obliged to it.
So, for me, it was like giving a trial. After two months, I decided I was going to take some cash and I did. Unimaginable, I got real cash out. Wow! So easily? So I kept making posts.

- My first challenge was understanding some markdowns, though I'm still discovering some.
- Another challenge is getting support (up votes). I am still struggling to get maximum support, though thankful for the one I have now. Barely three months after I joined steemit, I got very low support on post, times I had 0.10 or nothing. It really discouraged me. That you applied your knowledge and put up a lot of effort to make a post and yet it will have no single support could be discouraging and traumatizing. Honestly!

On the verge of giving up, I logged onto the platform and as I read posts from steemians from one community to another, I clicked on Steem For Ladies community. There I read a post that changed my mind from @wakeupkitty on her achievement as a dolphin.
From her story, I got encouraged and made up my mind to forge ahead whether I gained support or not. I just know that one day, I'll make it.

My happy story due to steemit is that as long as I engage on other people's posts and also make posts, I'll be earning some cash. Not like other platforms where you spend your time without a single return of a dime.
My happiest story is that at the end or beginning of every month, I cash out. This has helped me to take care of some of my immediate needs. I mean, I couldn't ask more than that. I'm grateful I joined steemit when I needed it most.

You must have had a rough start from the beginning of your Steemit career, yes markdown is a combination of codes that when applied to our content, it looks decent and organized. It takes longer before we master them. Lack of receiving support is also the big challenges we're facing on this platform, but we have to overlook and overcome it, you know why? Support will always comes to us when we due support. For instance, I haven't received citations for this week, but I believe it will come when I due, it also indicates that I need to work harder too. Not receiving support means we've to work harder than we before. I'm happy because even after the challenges you went through, you're now happy because of steemit. Honestly just like you said, one of my major regrets was not discovering steemit earlier enough. I wished I had known about it a long while ago but it’s well. Steemit is unique and unlike other social media platforms which pays you both nothing. The regular challenge of not getting support can be checked with consistency and ensuring we make quality posts with good markdown. It’s satisfying knowing steemit is an avenue for financial support. I do hope you make the most of the platform. Success
