Do We REALLY Need to Worry About "Not Keeping Up?"

Almost no matter where you look, you'll encounter some variation of the idea that "if you don't keep up (with life, people, your work, etc.) you'll be left behind!" I suppose that makes sense, but we speak of this as if "behind" is some horrible fate we must avoid at all costs. But is that necessarily true, or is it merely a fabricated cautionary tale, primarily created by marketers to keep us eternally consuming and putting our nose to the grindstone?

Yesterday I got up at half past five in the morning. As it is summer here, the heat is very high. However, we don't feel the heat because of the wind, and it's cool in the morning. As soon as I woke up I went upstairs and did some walking and breathing exercises. Then, I went downstairs and cleaned up the surroundings. After that, I watered the plants. After showering I went to the kitchen and started cooking the morning meal. I made egg masala and chapatis for morning cooking.

We were invited to Ernest’s place for lunch and dinner last Saturday. Who were we? We were classmates in 1986 in a Food and Beverage course. We reconnected through searches on Facebook and we have been meeting about once a month since about six years ago.

The Waterfall - 3

I sat at the top of the waterfall thinking at all those months I'd been locked up in the facility. What looked like a sanatorium turned out to be a laboratorium. My father had sold me because I survived each one of the viruses spread to our country. I despised the man, I despised those who abused me and wanted me to kneel and say thank you. Thank you for not even 100$. I needed money as soon as possible. I had a plan in mind of what to do and where to settle.
