Where in the World is Steem? #4 - Indian Subcontinent

As we move around the globe today we are homing in on the Steemians in the Indian Subcontinent.

There has always been some significant activity in this region of the world but the last year has seen a boom in new Steemians joining from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The growth of Steem in the subcontinent was demonstrated by two of the communities, Best of India and Steem Sri Lanka, being amongst the winners in the Steemit Awards for 2020.

THE INDIAN SUBCONTINENT

India is the most established of the countries Steem-wise.

In 'old Steem' there used to be a number of witnesses from India. Of the current witnesses is @steem-supporter from India? Any others?

India has three Country Representatives - @neerajkr03, @rishabh99946 and @sapwood.

@sapwood is also one of the Steemit Crypto Academy Professors.

Best of India is the main active Community in India.

They recently published a list showing around 50 active Steemians in India...

Bangladesh also has three Country Representatives and an active Community.

Steem has seen significant growth in Sri Lanka over the past year.

The country now has two Country Reps and two active Communities.

The larger of the two communities, Steem Sri Lanka run by country rep @randulakoralage along with @damithudaya and @sandupi, has recently posted a list of the 29 active Steemians in the country...
