The Diary Game (15-12-23) "Friday of Joviality" An evening of Euphoria with Colleagues and Friends

Dear Diary,

I woke up this morning feeling refreshed , had a little morning press-up or what you can refer to as yoga in my sitting room, the morning sun was shining brightly with the harmattan breeze blowing as if it wants to freeze the feets and the hands.But I didn't feel it as I got some burn out energy and a great sweat from the press -up excercise, It was a perfect start to a wonderful Friday.It felt great to get my body moving and to start the day on a healthy note.

After a delicious breakfast It hit my mind that my water reservoir tank was dry as the rainy season has stopped ,I need to store some water, I headed up to the filling station to buy fuel for the generator.Yes! I had to used generating set because there's no power supply to my area for almost two years now , you can imagine that , the more reason I don't have constant power on my phone to make post the way I supposed to.My phone and system are always down unless I use generator to charge them, the cost of fuel in my country isn't child's play. Of course I didn't really count on the cost anyway, just needed water for reserve.

After the whole water brouhaha I left for the teacher's party, the previous venue was to be an event centre, was later cancelled to cut cost, we unanimously agreed that it should be hosted in the school's hall. I reached before the kickoff time, I exchanged pleasantries with few friends and had quality discussion about my coming new year resolutions, it was such a heart warming discourse that warranted turn taking, financial advise and investment decisions.

We were offered different food on the menu unlike the conventional Jollof rice or Afang soup.This time our refreshment was more of organic food , Moimoi (bake beans) wrapped and cooked in a leaf ,fried chicken, fresh palm wine, and original local gin popularly called Akaikai, to me it was funny to be offered these local drinks once again after almost a decade of it disappearing from my eyes and sometimes it's disapproving for religious and health reasons because it's raw natural alcohol, nevertheless, it's cultural to present Akaikai and palmwine to visitors.I just bursted into laughter.Mind you the two drinks come from one source, while one is tapped directly from the palwine tree, the other is refined through different production processes of fermentation, boiling and distillation.I didn't drink any though , I had my reasons ,I could only take soft drinks, but most of those tough guys took them and other socialite ladies.The Moimoi was palatable, very yummy, a simple way to celebrate and enjoy.

I enjoyed every bit of other stuffs , it was local but it worth it , to come in contact with the local dry gin popularly known as Akakai was a thing of admiration to me, it brings one close to nature

I was carried away by the spirit of the season, I had to dance so much till I was soaked up in my sweat, such a time of it , the merriment of the season and the excitement that followed, I had forgot about all my problems, I gave myself to different dance steps and shouting in the air.At a time to retire home we all took pictures together with the School's Administrator. You could see the joy and happiness we had together for this small event ..I really enjoyed it.

In the evening as the sun was setting paving way for the night about 5:45 pm , I started to gather my feet to go home , the Disc Jockey person , a friend and a colleague intended to drag me on for me display , I dodged and sneaked out , straight to my house, I stopped by and got some popcorn in a local small chops shop .On reaching home, I showered , snugged on a couch ,enjoyed an interesting downloaded film that had been on my to-watch list for a while. That was the perfect way to end the day.

As I write this , I can't help but feel grateful for all the wonderful moments and the experiences this Friday has brought, It's been a day feel with fun, laughter and happiness just everything I needed to kick off the weekend.

I'm looking forward to what tomorrow will have in store and I pray it to be positive , bit for now I'm turning in for the night to have some rest.
