The Tree with Golden Flowers

in #story6 months ago

There was once a poor farmer who lived in a small village. He had a small piece of land where he grew crops for his family. He worked hard every day, but he barely made enough to survive.

One day, as he was plowing his field, he saw a strange sight. In the middle of his land, there was a small tree with golden flowers. The tree was unlike anything he had ever seen before. It sparkled in the sun, and its fragrance filled the air.

The farmer was amazed by the tree. He wondered how it came to be there, and what it meant. He thought that maybe it was a gift from the gods, or a sign of good fortune. He decided to leave the tree alone, and continue his work.

The next day, he returned to his field, and saw that the tree had grown bigger. It had more branches, more leaves, and more flowers. The farmer was astonished by the tree’s growth. He felt a surge of joy and gratitude. He thought that maybe the tree would bring him wealth and happiness.

He decided to pluck one of the flowers and take it home. He thought that maybe he could sell it for a good price, or keep it as a lucky charm. He reached out his hand and touched the flower. As soon as he did, he felt a sharp pain in his finger. He looked at his hand and saw that it was bleeding. He realized that the flower had thorns, and that they had pierced his skin.

He quickly withdrew his hand and dropped the flower. He felt a wave of anger and disappointment. He thought that maybe the tree was a curse, or a trap. He decided to cut down the tree and burn it.

He ran to his house and fetched an axe. He returned to his field and swung the axe at the tree. As soon as he did, he heard a loud scream. He looked at the tree and saw that it had a face, and that it was in pain.

He stopped his attack and dropped the axe. He felt a shock of fear and horror. He realized that the tree was alive, and that it had feelings. He decided to apologize to the tree and ask for forgiveness.

He knelt down and bowed his head. He said, “I’m sorry, tree. I didn’t know you were alive. I didn’t mean to hurt you. Please forgive me.”

The tree looked at him and said, “I forgive you, farmer. I know you didn’t know. I didn’t mean to harm you either. Please understand me.”

The farmer looked up and said, “I understand, tree. But why are you here? How did you grow in my land? What are you?”

The tree said, “I am a magic tree. I came from a faraway land, where I was planted by a fairy. She gave me the power to grow golden flowers, and to grant wishes. She told me to find a good person, and to make their dreams come true.”

The farmer said, “A magic tree? A fairy? Wishes? This is incredible. But why did you choose me? I am not a good person. I tried to cut you down and burn you.”

The tree said, “You are a good person, farmer. You work hard, you care for your family, you respect nature. You only tried to cut me down because you were confused and afraid. You have a good heart, and a noble spirit. You deserve a wish.”

The farmer said, “A wish? You can grant me a wish? Anything I want?”

The tree said, “Yes, farmer. Anything you want. But be careful what you wish for. Your wish will have consequences, both good and bad. Think well before you make your choice.”

The farmer thought for a while. He thought about his life, his struggles, his hopes, his dreams. He thought about what he really wanted, and what he really needed. He thought about what would make him happy, and what would make him sad.

He finally made up his mind. He said, “I wish for peace, tree. Peace in my heart, peace in my home, peace in my village, peace in the world. I wish for everyone to live in harmony, without violence, without hatred, without fear. I wish for everyone to be happy, and to share their happiness with others. That is my wish, tree.”

The tree smiled and said, “That is a beautiful wish, farmer. A noble wish, a wise wish, a good wish. I will grant you your wish, farmer. But remember, your wish will have consequences, both good and bad. Are you ready to accept them?”

The farmer nodded and said, “I am ready, tree. I trust you, tree. Thank you, tree.”

The tree said, “You’re welcome, farmer. Close your eyes, and make your wish.”

The farmer closed his eyes and made his wish. He felt a warm light envelop him, and a gentle breeze caress him. He heard a soft voice whisper in his ear, “Your wish is granted, farmer. Peace be with you.”

He opened his eyes and saw that the tree had disappeared. In its place, there was a small seed. The seed was golden, and it glowed with a faint light.

The farmer picked up the seed and held it in his hand. He felt a surge of peace and happiness. He realized that the tree had given him a gift, a part of itself. He decided to plant the seed in his land, and to watch it grow.

He ran to his house and told his family about the tree, the fairy, and the wish. They were amazed by his story, and they hugged him and thanked him. They felt a surge of peace and happiness too.

They went to his field and planted the seed. They watered it, and cared for it. They waited for it to sprout, and to grow.

They didn’t have to wait long. The next day, they saw a small sprout emerge from the soil. It had a golden hue, and it sparkled in the sun. It had a sweet fragrance, and it filled the air.

They were overjoyed by the sight. They knew that the magic tree had returned, and that it would grow golden flowers, and grant wishes. They knew that their wish had come true, and that peace had come to them.

They also knew that their wish had consequences, both good and bad. They knew that peace was not easy, nor cheap, nor permanent. They knew that peace required work, sacrifice, and vigilance. They knew that peace could be lost, or broken, or taken away.

But they were not afraid, nor worried, nor doubtful. They were hopeful, and grateful, and faithful. They trusted the magic tree, and they trusted themselves. They decided to protect the tree, and to protect their peace. They decided to share the tree, and to share their peace. They decided to live in harmony, without violence, without hatred, without fear. They decided to be happy, and to share their happiness with others.
