Good day Steemian and welcome, this is more than just a price update on the Steem cryptocurrency for 18/5/2024, under the hood it's been a 7 year project.
I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com back in 2016 along with other content, plus I have attended many Steem official events and represented Steem at smaller events.
Many have came here to discuss the daily Steem price and recent Steemit changes for over 7 years.

There also as never been a single power down made on this account since that time "7 years", our mission is to retain and rise the price of Steem for the benefit of us all. We do this by not only holding STEEM but by also buying into STEEM from time to time. All this rises the price of STEEM meaning your investment goes up in value and so does your earning rewards.

I'm sure we all want a better future for Steem and so casting your upvote here keeps Steem locked to raise it's value for us all. Most of the players in the crypto sphere are only here for some quick and shady profits before they just decide to get up and disappear but we have been here for the long run and would like to see Steem remained a strong and reliable token.

If you tire of addictively looking at the charts every few minutes then instead just relax and look here for the average STEEM price for your daily plan or strategy.

May 2024-Bitcoin reached over "70.000" again on March 25th and so the high season isn't done just yet thankfully. We had yet another fall from Bitcoin and likely you have witnessed recently some of the many bearish traps for investors to try and navigate. So who knows when the bullrun will be truly over, I mention bitcoin because it can be a indication on the direction that Steem will follow. However not a lot of movement from our own token this time round compared to previous years which is very sad. Perhaps we have to be more patient, others would argue that it almost doubled since it's bottom, and so while that was something to celebrate Steem as done much better in the past. However that does mean that Steem itself is essentially still wide open price wise for the smart and smaller investors💰. Last night I went to sleep way past the usual late hour which is disappointing, this was mostly due to getting distracted with some map making. When I did go to rest I had some difficulty falling asleep, not because of worry that I was going to hear the metal bang noises that I described the other day but I think stress was keeping me awake. When I did fall asleep I woke-up 20 minutes before my scheduled alarm, not sure why, but I tried going back to sleep and did so without much issue. I woke-up to the alarm and started to rest past it, I could hear one the 🐈 cats outside my door already eagerly wanting to visit me. I made them wait a little longer as I needed to wake-up properly first, the alarm was already set for later than usual as I wanted to make sure to get enough sleep. As for the weather this morning it's turned to the opposite of yesterday going cloudy and very dark, it looked miserable out and I'm not sure if it will rain or not but I'm just glad it's not cold. It was a late start to the day but luckily work was only later in the day and so like this giving me the chance to get a few basic chores done before having to leave. Good as today I will be having that meeting with my boss later, which I worry will bring mostly bad news🤦‍♂️. I done what I could until my free time was finished and then had a quick small breakfast before changing getting the cats out of my room and heading out to work. On the way it was trying to clear up a bit and so getting warmer. When I arrived to work my boss didn't look ready for our meeting and so I continued with the usual but was initially having issues with starting-up the system. Eventually as I went past the office of my boss he said he wanted to have that talk with me. The meeting was apparently mostly to do with flexibility and commitment to the business which he said didn't really apply to me much as I had these already covered. He did however say he might need more from me "no surprise every company wants your soul" to do some others tasks which I would need some re-training on but he is still not sure if this will be necessary.🙏 Hopefully it won't come to that, but I'm sure this is just a "soft push technique" where slowly I will be forced to do it, guess they have been taking pages out of the governments handbook. While most of the meeting doesn't effect me I do feel awful for the people that it does affect. From the details my boss gave me those people who are not fully flexible and running around for the needs of the business will eventually get the sack. This hit me ☹ because there are people like for example parents, students or those with 2 jobs who just can't commit to such flexible needs and so the company wants to push these people out of jobs which is unfair as there are people who can cover this and in such a difficult economy this is stupid👎. When the meeting was over I quickly checked to see if there was going to be extra work later thankfully not as I was not in the mood. I still had 3 tasks to complete for the week and there was no way this was getting done, but hey if I can sign 1 task off that will be at least something. My colleague who normally deals with the extra work as been training another colleague all this week and I believe this coming week he will train another colleague to do it. And that will be the one who said that I wasn't being very encouraging or supportive enough of him. Well unlike the others I can't help but speak the truth🤷‍♂️, it's not him.. the work itself is not easy and sorry but I just wont pretend to sugar coat it!🍭. As for the new guy at work he's actually just here for around 4 weeks as he is training to be a superior for another worksite. But honestly all I see this guy doing most of the day is just walking around back and forth, checking he's phone all the time rather than learning or even working for that matter. When we left today he strangely told two women who were walking to the nearby GYM that they must be crazy to be walking around at 7.30PM..What?🤷‍♂️? Why on earth did he say that? Is it a safety measure? I mean today it went past 9PM and it was still light out, plus there were plenty of women out, I just can't understand why this guy is so confused about 2 women walking around at 7.30PM. As he ever been out at night? Many of the women who go out clubbing don't get back home until 4 in the morning🤷‍♂️. Regardless I was glad to leave that place and took my time getting home to enjoy some of nature. I still got to update one more friend that I wont be going at all to the event but he is already set for the event and so there's no rush. I'm very annoyed with work 🤬 for not giving me the time off but I don't like that kind of thing getting to me and so I'm brushing it off and moving on. I know that's what the overlords want you to do anyway because they don't care, as work always comes first but I'm doing it for myself. As for Steemit.com there as been talks about doing PR for the site which as all been done before and while in one way adding more people could help the value of Steem I believe it would be better to try and educate those who are already with us. And I don't mean education on creating content but rather on how the site and the token is valued "again not by it's content" but instead by holding Steem, buying etc. SteemFest in the past was a massive Steem dedicated event, SteemFest Korea 2024 will take place in the South Korean capital of Seoul on Saturday 25 May. It's not their first and I believe it's a smaller event compared to the original SteemFest events but that's ok anybody can put together a Steem event and it's great to see it happening in South Korean. Others are working on updating the look of the Steemit.com website to something more "modern" I was very worried about this but the changes aren't anything drastic. They have got to the point of having alpha testers. What I would like to see is just easier excess to all parts of the website. Sometimes I feel have to be too much on the right page to get to where I want to go.. if that makes sense. Onwards there as been mostly promises of war happening everywhere, more countries are slowly getting and warning their citizens to prepare for war. Such a war in this day and age will be devastating and so we must continue to work to remain at peace and not fight in wars that don't belong to us. Before we finish I would like to ask if anybody can recommend any website to watch movies or series for free without a VPN, a upvote will be sent if it's good.
