Life Under the Ocean. Day 28. Art. Montage. Photography.

in #ocd-resteem5 years ago (edited)

Even if you never have
The chance to see or touch the ocean:
The ocean touches you with every breath you take:
Every drop of water you drink, every bite you consume.
Everyone, everywhere is inextricably connected to
And utterly dependent upon
The existence
Of the sea.
~Sylvia A. Earle: The World Is Blue.

Fourth Seven Day Covenant.

This piece marks the end of my Fourth Seven Day Covenant and is the culmination of my work over the past week: With the theme of starfish and rockpools at Boomerang Beach: Using a square format with three squares in vertical alignment on either side.

In this final image, I have used the same starfish that appeared in my previous images within the six squares. And as the main image, I have used an image of water flowing into the rockpools in combination with one of my ephemeral art images .

For me now this piece exemplifies the coming together of images and symbolism of life and beauty, love and joy. It brings together my interests in the ecology of our marine world and the Seed of Life.

It also brings together my work with ephemeral art and photography and now montage. It also gives me something I've been seeking for a long long time: A theme worthy of spending time/energy to continue developing and then drawing/painting.

By itself, water does not produce the dimethyl sulfide molecules
Around which water gathers to form vapor ~ That becomes clouds
That in turn, become rain, sleet and snow.

Microscopic photosynthetic organisms in the sea
Do all of these things and much more.

~Sylvia A. Earle.

Water flowing into the Rockpools.

Prochlorococcus is just one blue-green bacteria
That is so abundant: That it alone is responsible
For about 20 % of the oxygen in the atmosphere.

~Sylvia A. Earle.

Orchids and the Seed of Life.

Put another way:
This nearly invisible form of life
Generates the oxygen in one of every five breaths
You take. No matter where on the planet you live.
~Sylvia A. Earle.

Tomorrow.

Tomorrow I wish to share a summary of the artwork completed over the past four weeks: Including a few pieces that were completed but not shown.

A heart that is holding infinite possibilities.
A creative who is learning to trust the mystery of what will be.
A spirit that is willing to fly into new creative realms and share the journey.
~Ally.

Very nice use of photography, ephemeral art and montage! I'm a big fan of your work. This makes me feel like heading down to the tide pools for some photography and fun.

You'll HAVE to now @lightsplasher. Synchronicity works like that. When you see an image that suggests to you that you need to spend some time pool-gazing ~ Follow your heart and go. Your child nature will love it. So relaxing. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

I was headed down to the tide pools but after twenty miles I thought it was best to turn around. I was feeling tired and wanted an easy ride back. I did manage to get to the ocean and smell the ocean breeze though. It is nice around here.

Thanks for all the love April. I've tried lots of images for the main image, behind the six small squares, but the combination of water ripples and the Seed of Life really made my heart sing the most. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

Wonderful culmination of this theme of the sea and life, Ally <3 The montage is so delicate and so beautiful! And I love how we again revisits the Seed of Life as an element in this work, as if echoes of your previous artistic expressions continue to reverberate through you :)

Gorgeous piece <3 Love it !

Yes, once we work with something it becomes part of our 'creative kit' that can at some later stage be worked with, in all sorts of new ways.

After working on this piece I've received a few other ideas on how to combine the Seed of Life with images of the sea and land. Working with Photoshop has been instrumental in all this opening out now.

I have the feeling for making 'things' again now Spider, so I'll probably have a little break from Photoshop and pick up on the wands and collage again. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

What a beautiful project! Very impressive, how you have combined all those elements.

Thanks so much for visiting and your comment @blueeyes8960. Experimenting with Photoshop has been quite rewarding. Even though I only use the basic tools, I've certainly learned a lot about how to combine different images now. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

@allyinspirit I've been experimenting with an app called LunaPic for creating effects for my photos. It is fun, learning something new. I didn't know anything about doing videos until the #seven77 pushup challenge. Now I can record it, trim it, add the text, and add my own music. Still very basic but I'm having fun experimenting.

You artworks are always so full of symbolism and ideas. Someone can look them but also read them like a book:)

Beautiful work. You are very talented. I must say that the Seed of Life with Orchids resonates with me. Looking forward to see more of your work 😊

That is stunning!
Is that a real starfish in the art piece?
And was that a photo of water flowing into the rock pool?
Beautiful combinations -love the effects you got in this theme!

Lovely art Ally, well done for transforming pure natural items into you collage and montage. I was born in a coastal town and have never left to coast in 5 decades, simply moving along it, as it is so entrenched in my conditioning now.

I like looking at the sparkles in a lot of your pieces. To me, it gives them this magical like aura that makes my mind wander. I'm curious to know how you got into do these?
