Let's Open Another #steemmonsters Booster Pack - The SteemMonsters Train Giveaway - Round 2
I was sitting around last monday night thinking about doing another #steemmonsters giveaway and then I recalled a dream I had previously. There's nothing to it, so I wasn't about to add it to my dream journal (haven't been able to remember any in a while) but I can remember making a post about wanting to do a #steemmonsters giveaway, and someone liked my initiative and gifted me two booster packs. All I can remember was logging in to the SteemMonsters.com site, clicking on Card Packs and seeing that I had two booster packs available.
If you don't know what #steemmonsters is, check the link above and get started! It's basically a card game on the steem blockchain! Join the fun and level up before the battles begin! I think this is a great initiative and brings a lot of potential to gaming on the blockchain. As a gamer myself, I could not pass this up and would be the first card game of this kind that I actually get into.
Then that thing happened. You can thank nijeah for the delay in this giveaway by bringing the entire steem blockchain to a halt with his negative vests power down. I was so frustrated as the website became useless. I needed to get my SteemMonsters giveaway out before bed, along with one or two other posts that I had in mind, but I couldn't stare at the error page any longer. I called it a night. Then my new day job kicked my butt all week. Whatever the intentions were, thankfully everything was fixed within a few hours, but it was too late for me!
Since my dream was just a dream, I was going to just get the booster packs and have them ready, but you know, that thing was happening, which meant that not even vessel was working.
With that said, it's been long enough. While I only power up my earnings, last week I made a little Crypto Investment and got 24 steem, so I don't feel bad spending on a couple of booster packs while I try to make this a self-sustaining giveaway.
The Concept
My concept is easy. Use the liquid payouts from my #steemmonsters posts to pay for booster packs to giveaway, since earnings from other posts are tied to strictly powering up.
Rewards obtained from the first giveaway post:
SBD: 0.096
STEEM: 0.149
To make this easier, I converted via current prices (with a calculator) the STEEM into SBD which turned it to:
SBD: 0.096 + 0.184 = 0.28 SBD.
Rewards obtained from the giveaway results:
SBD: 0.038
STEEM: 0.078
Steem converted to SBD: 0.094 + 0.038 = 0.132
Between both posts, we have 0.28 + 0.132 = 0.412 SBD.
Cost of today's Booster pack: 1.568 SBD
Having had .412 SBD put away towards this prize is quite honestly more then I expected for the first round, so I am happy to fund another giveaway (or at least, the remainder). So a big thanks to round 1's upvoters and participators, my goal here is to gain enough support to consistently do more booster pack giveaways. The more I get, the more I can giveaway. It would be nice to give away more than one booster pack each week, so you can see where I'm going with this.

When I joined Steemit I made the decision to always Power-Up my earnings. For now, payouts are set to 50/50 but you bet I will convert & Power Up! Besides internal transfers, I have never cashed out and don't plan on it! Power-Up only!

My friend @blueteddy won the Flesh Golem contest, her story was epic IMO. So right now, I'd say my favorite is the flesh golem. My day job, steemit stuff and my night job has kept me from reading too much though.
I'm upvoting you for your contest... If I win then I will keep only a gold card, and give the others away. So if not gold, then I will give away all the cards, even legends. I would like to see you continue doing this, so I would suggest you give the cards away that I would win, and I would suggest you do it by whoever participates in your next game.

Steem monsters is amazing but the prices of cards have been slowly deprecating

Here is a screenshot of some of my monsters. I don't have many as yet, in fact I haven't even bought the Starter Set yet, as I still can't afford it. This means that the only monsters I have so far have been donated to me, as I can't buy booster packs until I've bought the Starter Set first.
I'm planning on doing similar to you @bitfiend, buying my monsters from my creation & curation reward income, meaning that it'll be a long time before I can start collecting in earnest. I currently have only 0.455ˢᵗᵉᵉᵐ in my wallet. In the meantime, any double-ups I receive, I am giving them away to #payitforward.

Thanks @bitfiend, this is such a cool thing that you're doing, giving away a whole booster pack. Such restraint, not opening them all up first yourself and keeping the monsters you didn't already have, then giving away the rest. That's what I'd be doing. 😆
