Every now and then, just being does it for me.
Beautiful thoughts drift in and out, never lingering long enough. I choose to see the best of possibilities, because otherwise, what's the point? I read somewhere that it takes three years for a person to learn how to use their tongue, but, it takes a lifetime to learn when and how to use it. Ironic, isn't it?
Kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.
I challenge your heart to do a random act of kindness today. Because you can. No strings attached.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.
they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?
i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.
later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,
"everywhere"

Just thinking about my grandson and his new found sounds...but how many adults should keep their tongues in check, lol You write such beautiful words, @dswigle. Everytime I visit your posts I ponder for a few minutes, between the beautiful flowers and your words, so uplifting and thoughtful. :)
I was only just read your tagline! Always flowers... I was starting to detect a theme! I do like the second one the best, the white and pink. Wisdom is always a much more difficult thing to learn than the actual harnessing of a tool!

Yes I have thankfully done ok by choosing to see the best of possibilities. The power of a dream is a remarkable thing. Just ask MLK. His dream changed so much. You write with such passion, I love it!

There are some that work better than others. I love the soft, dreamy look and then again there are days that I love the bold, brightness of color.
