Tree Tuesday Waxes Poetic

The beauty of spring has wrapped my soul, filled it with wonder, then turned it to gold. Oh, Beauty! Oh, my soul.

Today is #TreeTuesday initiated by @Old-Guy-Photos. Let's put up some trees today! If you haven't guessed it by now, this tree is one of my favorites. I walk right by him whenever I go out for a run or walk. No matter which way I go, it always comes back to him.

I probably have a least a hundred pictures of this tree, in various states of dress and well, undress. He was nekkid, just barely a month ago. Times flies. Catch it if you can.

The dance of the Magnolias...Soon, just a figment of my imagination, mine to keep safe. That is what happens when you only get small snippets of beauty. You must file them to memory.

Once upon a time, this figurehead would have been carved out of wood rather than sculpted. They were generally a decoration on the bow of the ships. It usually had something to do with the name of the ship, or what it was named for. She is perched on wood, once a tree. Can anyone guess what kind of wood this would be? Or what kind of tree? Kind of the same thing, no? These beautiful pieces were popular in the 16th through 20th centuries. Ah, the days of 'yore.

My rescue tree, of sorts. I had a summer home in Michigan, close to the Canadian border. When I sold it a little over a year ago, I took a few trees and bulbs from the property, even saving a lilac bush that I pulled from my grandmothers' yard after she passed away. I gathered them all, each little memory and brought them home with me and planted them in my yard. Every one of them survived to go on and create more memories. It was November, so I was sincerely surprised and delighted, all in the same breath. He is looking Marvelous, darling!

A flower. Always. This flower is dedicated to #TuesdayOrange #ColorChallenge by @Kalemandra. She truly colors my world.

Old Ebbitt and I have a date for dinner later on. I love the atmosphere and food there. And I would love to give a review, but, @slobberchops does it best. Go and see him if you want to really hear how it's done. I have a lot to learn from him.

For all of these reasons, I am eternally grateful. Don't ever forget what a wonderful world we live in, people. Let's hold hands around the globe and make this earth really spin. Some days, it is not as easy to see, how wonderful it really is. Kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"

Oh yes I agree vitamin Sea has quite the allure. However I have always found it hard to have it for a while then leave. I am more to want to stake a claim. More of a buyer than a renter. I am shooting for both fresh and salt. As long as there is water, I'm good. Well it may take a while, but I enjoy the process and the journey.

Your second picture is my favorite. I really like walking up to tall things and taking upwards shots to show the magnitude of how big something is. I have an electric pole I take a lot of photos of. It has ivy growing all over it but during different seasons the ivy looks different. In the fall it turns bright red. We all have things we gravitate to where we find beauty I guess. :)

It's nice your transplanted plants made it like your grandmother's lilies. Fifteen years after my great grandmother's death my aunt still has some of her plants alive and well after transplanting them. It's nice to see.

Such a cool collection of shots of trees in various states
I think that figurehead probably caught my eye the most such cool detail

Thanks for this great post and being an active member of @steemusa !tip

Thank you and yes, it is slightly eclectic, isn't it? The figurehead is from one of the Tall Ships that was in Baltimore on a tour. They were pretty cool to look at and they allowed us to tour them too. I cannot image all the people that they shoveled into those vessels sailing across the ocean like that.

Yikes!

#SteemUSA is my guilty pleasure! ;) Thanks for the tip!

Those old ships are great to see but like you say I would hate to have worked on or been cargo on one back in the day

I am pretty sure I would be in the brig. I am not sure I could take the BO from not having showered for 48 days and night. I might say something offensive.

:)

OhhI know if i was in that situation I would without a doubt say something offensive LOL

Awesome photos Denise! I love the perspective of looking straight up the tree trunk. It just highlights the awesomeness of the tree.

I appreciate the words! That is probably my favorite view - straight up! I think it makes those tall oaks even more majestic than they already are.

Hope all is well in your world. I am finding myself so far behind I can't see yesterday from here. Where does the time go?

Thanks for stopping by and leaving such nice comments. Have a most amazing day!

Guaooooooooo, que impresionante belleza amiga ! Felicitaciones es lo que puedo decirle, gracias por tan lindas imagenes, saludos, una belleza.

So nice. I just moved my perch to the window. On so I can sit on high chair and two so I look out the window at False Creek. Yes, Vitamin C sweetens the air. Loved the story about moving your grandmother's plant. My grandmother recently passed on and having those little things helps you remember they are still with you. Blessings, Denise. You bless each of us everyday:)

just alive... thanks to share dear ❤
