#club5050 Goslings

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago

It is the time of the year when we, here in England and even in the city of London, start seeing baby birds. It goes without saying that I will be sharing them with you here on the platform.

Canada geese Branta canadensis are large birds that are a common sight here any time of the year, especially by the river Thames and near ponds in various parks and gardens including ones centrally located e.g. Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.

They were introduced to England from North America more than 300 years ago.

But follow me to my neck of the woods, west from these quite popular, posh places. I was lucky to bump into a couple sharing the remains from a romantic picnic with a family of geese.

I might also organise such next week one day after work, weather permitting.

Bread certainly isn’t something we should feed ducks and geese with. They are naturally always up for a treat so they would never reject it and will simply have as much as they are given. But then it is hard for them to digest it and their tummies ache. They literally feel little explosions inside their stomachs but have no clue why.

So you are better off giving them nothing rather than bread. They are quite capable of grazing and feeding themselves. Plus feeding them shouldn’t be considered as a free, non-stop entertainment.

Another thing that I suggest people avoid doing is getting too close to them for the sake of taking a selfie. Would you like if a bear does this to you and will you feel comfortable? I very much doubt it.

The goslings as you can see are too cute to handle. The geese I photoed had sixteen little ones which I think some might find a bit too many children to look after.

As expected they do want they want and get worn out quite quickly. So if you admire them for fifteen minutes I bet you will see them eating, chilling, fighting, sleeping and even swimming.

I look forward to another awesome weekend full of adventures hoping to capture more of the wildlife in the UK to share with you here, exclusively of course.

They are extremely cute indeed @stef1 Thank you for stopping by and nominating my post for the community support programme. The booming upvote followed and is well received. Enjoy the weekend. I hope it is sunny in Scotland too. Here in London today we expect temperatures up to 24 degrees Celsius.

And Dad and Mom don't throw themselves at people? They had to protect their babies and drive all people away from them.

Why are you making a 50% deduction in favor of @wox-heplfund?

The parents surprisingly don’t chase the people away. I think it is because some feed them. I also had a zoom lens on so I certainly wasn’t an intruder.

Well spotted, I hope that others will see it too and might consider contributing. It doesn’t need to be this much, I am pretty sure that even 5% would be well received. I personally agreed to donate 50% of my earnings for three weeks whilst being delegated 50,000 SP as part of the orca initiative here in WOX. It feels awesome being such an influencer. I love using my power to upvote quality posts. I believe that all this extra work, the curation I do, makes the community a better place for more of us. This doesn’t remain unnoticed and the additional support I receive is also getting me closer to a dolphin status. Have a think if this is something you might be interested in as in a week I suppose there will be auditions for another orca.

O, you are now responsible for the development of our community! I'm even glad of it!
I read your answer late, so I forgot to allocate a deduction too. I'll do it next time.

ducks are beautiful animals
younglings are such beauties
nice photos

Wow, these little creatures are so cute🐥. It gives a great pleasure to sit and just watch them.🥰

These photographs generate the importance of being together and united as a family, there are many cute geese, what good parents, these photographs seem from a simply spectacular story, we must educate people to take care of their health and their space, sometimes they feel cornered and attack for protection.

Greetings and Blessings.
