Of course there are official guidelines that I will break down for you.
It all starts by joining #club5050 at least. If you are new to this, please consider yourself invited. All it takes is withdrawing less than you power up. A ratio of 51% powered up and 49% transferred works totally fine. If you still happen to have SBD, don't save them for your grandchildren. There isn't a better time than now to buy STEEM with them as the price is low. You can check where you are standing by using a tool which analyses your latest Steemit activity.

Then aim at describing the subject you post about using a minimum of 300 words. Again, if this is all Greek to you, I recommend using another online tool that will count the words for you. Once you do it a couple of times, it will start coming to you naturally. Same for commenting as we are on the hunt for useful replies with as little as 50 words.
It goes without saying that plagiarism is not tolerated at all and your content must be #steemexclusive. If you are wondering, yes, we care and we do check. We take curating seriously and to me it is not just about paying the authors. What this programme wishes to achieve, is to increase the number of bloggers who provide us something worthy of looking at and reading about. So during my curation day, every Monday this November, I don't feel like one of the fifty people working in the accounts department on the third floor just doing bank transfers all day long. What I do is brighten up the day of as many of you as I can. It doesn't matter how big or how small your account is or the number of followers you have. It does help though if you reply to most of the comments you get as this is how you create an audience.

Do tortoises like lava lamps?
I bet they do, I think they're attracted to them. Pity I have neither around me right now, just all sorts of boring stuff you can find in an office, so I can't experiment. Glad to see you here and to know that all is well. Steemit can't replace your human, actually gorilla in your case, family but can make an exiting add-on. I catch up here when I travel, whilst others watch the telly or read books, etc.
No lava lamp or tortoise huh... I've got a lava lamp (which has survived since some point in the 90s) but no tortoise yet. I think you're right though, I can't see why a tortoise wouldn't like them.
I just tried to do too much. Now there's another bunch of people fighting plagiarism and there's a budget to support development so I don't need to worry about any of that any more. Yay! I might need to set up a Fantasy Football league for the World Cup though... I don't see many football fans around any more though ☹️
Exactly! Take it easy, have fun on the platform whilst maybe getting to know some of the new people here 👾 I believe there are some football fans around. There are currently plenty of challenges on though considering all the communities so it might take a while to get the attention of many 🤔

One curiosity...if your curation day is Monday, and there are 3 of you...how does that work?

Yup, I had already found the linked post and read through. Clearly still plenty to learn about the steemit platform (not a bad thing). I am surprised there is no one from the USA. I get the feeling steemit must not be as popular in the State as it is across the pond. Hopefully that changes one day!

There are a few 🇺🇸around actually Try following @ronthroop @denmarkguy and @rossfletcher Right now they don’t follow the curators’ guidelines so that’s why I reckon they’re not on there. Curating is also lots of work and one needs to be consistent, multitask to get it all done within the time frame and not miss a thing. I personally double check the accounts I support and I triple check the spreadsheet we have to fill in before I finish for the day. But I would rather be busy than sit around and do nothing really so I keep giving it my all 💃

During this month there are several teams made up of 7 users, each of them will have one day to carry out their healing journey.
The truth is that I have seen few users from USA, I hope that more will join, although that is not limiting to continue sharing their publications.
I think @jae5086 started on the platform back in 2015 or so. He was mainly using it at work but they got busier and he left the office to be in the field fulltime and that was pretty much the end of that until we made this account recently. He feels like their were more from the States back then (though could, of course, just be misremembering). It would be interesting to know why that disparity exists.
Ha! If only I had grandchildren ;-)))
