Lamp Posts and Clouds, Jackets and Blankets
Someone from steemit asked me what I see around my home, and I replied... other homes!
During the Spring and Summer months, the front yards of all homes here are teeming with blooming flowers and green ground cover. Today what I see are tired blooms.
Although it stopped this morning, it has been raining for days.
So I went for a short run around the block
I have not checked today's forecast. But it sure is cloudy!
It made me think about what homeless families with children do to survive the harsh outdoors.
There is a Goodwill store a few miles from where I live. I think that I will pick up a few warm outerwear, and perhaps a couple of jackets and even blankets. Oh yeah... maybe a couple of sleeping bags!
My Saturday routine includes bringing food to the homeless families that stay in a specific park at certain times of the day. I think that jackets, blankets, and sleeping bags would be helpful in addition to the usual canned food and baked bread.

@underground... not all needy people cross one's path, and it doesn't happen everyday. But when they do, it draws upon one's compassion and kindness (and not hatred or disdain and disgust). And if it is within one's means to help, then charity and social justice draw on one's generosity.
