My Favorite Mexico GOLD COINS for Fiesta Tuesday
It is Fiesta Tuesday once again. This post is especially for my bestie, @silverd510, who conceptualized the #fiestatuesday tag for anyone to showcase coins from one of the oldest mints in the world, and I any silver for that matter. We just want to have fun... it is a fiesta💃🌮!!!
The Mexico GOLD Coins:
1923 Viente Pesos and 1947 50 Pesos
Mexican Gold Peso coins are some of the most beautiful Gold coins in the world. Minted in Mexico City, the Mexican Gold Peso coins contain 90% pure Gold and 10% copper. The addition of copper during the minting process gives the Gold Peso coins a hardness that Gold alone cannot provide.
MexicoGold 20 Pesos - Coin Highlights:- Contains 0.4823 oz of Gold.
- 27.5 mm in diameter, slightly smaller than a U.S. half dollar.
- Obverse: A golden eagle perched on a cactus with a snake in its beak.
- Reverse: "Veinte Pesos" surrounding the Cuauhxicalli Eagle Bowl Aztec Calendar or Sun Stone.
- Issued by Banco de México from 1917-1959.
- Most were minted with the restrike year of 1959.
Mexico Gold 50 Pesos - Coin Highlights:
- Contains 1.2057 oz of Gold.
- Comes in protective packaging.
- Obverse: Mexico's national coat of arms featuring a golden eagle perched on a cactus with a snake in its beak.
- Reverse: Features the iconic Winged Victory "The Angel of Independence" design. Issued by Banco de México from 1921-1947.
The Mexican Peso was originally released in 1921 in honor of the Centenario, or Mexico’s first century of freedom. It has since become one of the country’s most iconic pieces of currency. The 50 Pesos and 20 Pesos Mexican Gold Coin is the largest and second-largest denomination in the bullion coin series respectively.

Apart from the old, boring sovereign, I don't own any gold coins. I keep telling myself I should and now I think I have to start pucki g up some fractional gold coins.
Any suggestions as to cheapest 1/10 or 1/20th to buy?? Maples, pandas??
I stack fractional gold, @welstacker, and my favorite is the 1/10 American Gold Eagles. I am on a tubular journey on that one! I sincerely think that stacking fractional gold is the way to go. With a small disposable income, it is the first coin that I purchase, the rest in AGE then a couple of face value US Constitutional silver, after which any vintage generic silver, and in that order. This way of stacking makes sense for my personal circumstances.

MAPLES without question!
Lower premiums than any other, consistently.
Now the Pandas are 'metric' meaning that they
are 30 grams for the large coins and I suspect the
smaller ones are 3's and 15's??? Lower prices but
less gold content, and one time I checked it was
a higher premium by the percentage basis... 😱
Where I am, the fractional AGE comes with lower premium than gold Maples... but I always get at least one 1/10 oz Maples every year. Thanks, @underground! Have a great evening and take care 🥰🌺🤙.

I love the story of old men and their walking canes filled with Sovereigns,their life savings trying to escape east Germany during the war!

What I was doing was going to the LCS and picking up Silver bullion, and then one fractional Gold or a "special Silver"!
This plan would take care of Little Silvertop and the bullion was for long term savings/investment😀
