#silverpornsaturday: Does Your Stack Make Sense?
We all start somewhere in our precious metal stacking endeavors.
Perhaps, it started with one special silver coin.
And as time passes, one coin becomes several.
Before long, you have accumulated quite a bit of silver!
Sometimes, it takes a while to decide which silver coins to get.
But I learned that it is always prudent to get only the coins that make sense to YOU.
Find the combination of silver pieces that you like... the ones that interest you.
Most importantly, the pieces you can get that are within your budget.
This makes better sense than buying a coin just because everyone is talking about it.
Don't be carried away by the hype!
... you get excited.
... you buy the coin that you don't really want and/or you cannot afford.
... then you put it away.
...and the fun is gone😏😕
You may have a hodge-podge of everything silver and gold.
But if you only buy what you like...
then stacking will make more sense.

Yes, buy what you like and it should be the best strategy. As you know, I am almost strictly a BULLION STACKER, and I never buy collectibles unless I am fortunate enough to find a DEAL. Perhaps the biggest exception is that I bought a Valcambi Combi-Bar, 10x10x1 gram breakable ingots.
I bought it because I LIKE IT and I also have a collection of divisible rounds and bars, in case the SHTF... A full ozT might be too big for some things and I hate overpaying for anything 🤣🤩🤩🤩
I also have a good collection of Constitutional Silver, numis and odd pieces, but these were all purchased near Spot or under. I got a large number (few hundred) "Silver War Nickels" for about 35% Spot, which is refiners price. Gimme MOAR! like that! 💕
This just shows that shopping around, getting to know your LCS's and just asking (haggling) really pays off! I also get plenty of "things I like" but rarely pay over spot.
I am about to try my hand at pawn-shopping, since I know that they pay well under SPOT just like the Mall Kiosk "WE BUY SILVER & GOLD" bandits. I LOVE to stick it to those guys 😹🤣

I have very few hand-poured fractional silver. I do stack fractional silver in the form of US Constitutional silver. And yes, I recently just discovered the great prices of silver one can avail of at pawnshops.

I should have tried the coins at the pawn shop before this, because I knew I can haggle on the prices of firearms. Got a SWEET, Like NEW Browning Hi-Power (not to be confused with Hi Point LOL) for $600 which is like 1/2 list price of a new one. I just figured s high as those prices were it would be a waste of time, they were WAY OVER Spot, I guess I expected unreasonable dealings...

I only buy a coin when I have spare money. That way I will never be sorry for overspending.
The only problem is that I lie to myself sometimes, usually when I see a commemorative that I MUST have.. :=(

My stack would be considered all over the place by most, but it makes sense to me. Remember I started as a collector of high end coins, so I’m not a true stacker bestie. But I definitely agree that if you buy what you like you will always be happy.

That is a great plan! I only buy once a month. I use a list. And when I am ready to purchase, I reprioritize the list to make sure that I am sticking to my plan. The top of my list is always the three coins that make up the foundation of my stack. And as the weeks and months progress, I keep adding to the list. Some new ones make it to the top, while others remain in the bottom, and eventually, I don't get them at all. It works for me very well, and that is how I make sense of my stacking.

Unfortunately, Ned called me mid day to let me know his father passed away this morning. 😪 Today has been rough. There has been talk of us all getting together tomorrow night. But Ned isn’t telling his kids about their grandpa until Wednesday (long story) and I am not sure I can hold back my tears if I go over there. 💧
