THE INITIATION OF WORLD SMILE PROJECT SOUTH AFRICA (WSP SA) and @smilesouthafrica

in STEEM FOR BETTERLIFElast year

WORLD SMILE SOUTH AFRICA

It is here! It is official!

Welcome to the official page for @smilesouthafrica

We have seen the World Smile Project (WSP) in action for just over a year with various projects launched in countries like Indonesia, Venezuela, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Nigeria.

The WSP was initiated by @el-nailul and the team from Indonesia showing kindness around the globe.
Three of the latest programs;

  • A Free education project that just finished 100% in Indonesia, East Aceh Steem Solar PV Project phase 2 in Nigeria
  • The English course program in Venezuela
  • The WSP is taking its next project to the tip of the Africa Continent, South Africa.

Why South Africa?

South Africa has the reputation of being one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It is also known as the “Rainbow Nation” due to the diverse nationalities and cultures of its people. Just like many countries South Africa also has its problems of which poverty is the biggest problem.

  • The latest release stats shows that approximately 49,2% of the adult population is living below the upper-bound poverty line.
  • 1/3 Of South Africans go hungry each day.
  • More than 9 million children receive food at schools every day.

The purpose of World Smile South Africa would be to discover, investigate and consult with various parties to establish where WSP can lend a helping hand.

One of the greatest leaders in the world, and old President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela once said, "There can be no greater gift than that of giving one's time and energy to helping others without expecting anything in return."

Who will be leading the WSP project in South Africa?

WSP approached Steemit Country Representative from South Africa, @patjewell to represent World Smile South Africa and to manage the entire project.

She has proven herself as hard-working Steemian with integrity, and someone who always place the need of her fellow Steemians first.

She is also a successful businesswoman, who studied political science and law, and someone who has been involved in charity from a very young age.

In her interview with @ubongudofot she said the following;

“Charity has always been part of my family. My mother said no to a teaching career. She wanted to make a difference and started working at an orphanage when she finished school.

I was born by having so many brothers and sisters. From being little I can remember how we worked at fundraising and charity events.

Growing up I never let go of it. I’ve always supported local communities, NGO’s and charities and I have made my children part of it.”

How will funds be raised?

As the Steemit community in South Africa is still very small the project will depend a lot on the support from the Steemit family.

Support can be shown in two ways;

1. Donations in the form of SBD

Donations in the form of SBD can also be sent to the wallet of @smilesouthafrica with the memo, “Support WSP SA”.

2. Donations via post earnings

To donate via post earnings Steemians can set a beneficiary to @smilesouthafrica and use the hashtag #smilesouthafrica

As new ways and projects come to light, they will be shared on the Steemit platform.

The WSP believes in transparency therefore donations and the usage of funds can be monitored at all times through the @smilesouthafrica account. Regular reports will also be published in the STEEM FOR BETTERLIFE community.

Introduction of projects and distribution of aid

The form of aid will be determined, and projects will be set up accordingly to the outcome.
Aid types will mainly be project aid, technical assistance, or program aid.

Projects will be submitted to the WSP team. On approval quotations, etc. will be obtained and a budget set accordingly. This will be presented to the WSP team for their final approval.

Project information posts will be posted on the @smilesouthafrica blog for Steemians to follow.
Of importance is that aid will be distributed openly and only with approval of the whole team.

The WSP team consists of the following Steemians.

@el-nailul @heriadi @irawandedy @klen.civil @sofian88 @mariana4ve @ubongudofot @patjewell

Progress of each project

Of importance is for Steemians and especially donors to follow the progress of projects therefore progress reports will be posted on a regularly on the @smilesouthafrica and also the blog of the leader, @patjewell.

These reports will include the following;

• % of completion
• Funds released with receipts
• Photos were applicable
• Letters from the supported organizations etc.

Steemians are invited to read these posts, support them and ask questions should need to.

Thank you!
@smilesouthafrica

Congratulations on launching @smilesouthafrica charity account. I welcome the expansion of WSP's reach to south africa. This proves that we are serious and transparent in working on world charity projects
My hope to all users to be able to support the project initiated by @smilesouthafrica

@patjewell, I am sure that the noble work you did will get good results and be accepted by South Africans. So that we get feedback for steemit in the form of promotion-steem through charity

To carry out our charity project requires support from all parties, especially from the steemit team in this regard @steemcurator01

First I would like to thank you for your dedication (@patjwell) so far in encouraging the realization of charity activities in South Africa. Even though today the new african charity account is publicly published, I see you have set up payment for african smiles. This is a step that must be imitated by other users, doing good does not have to be published first, but rather do it.

By officially publishing this account, the hope is that WSP can encourage the realization of programs in various countries, not being concentrated in just one region and country.

We will fully support each charity program in totality and release an official announcement through the Int charity account and be strengthened with support from the WSP Int Team and State representatives.

Thank you so much my friend! 🎕
It warms my heart when I read a message like this.
I will only strive in giving it my best at all times.

Thank you for establishing the project on behalf of WSP International, our goal is to disseminate information about steem all over the world with solid proof that steem could finally change their life to be better.

What we need to do is to show them that even though only a few dedicated people can change lives.

I appreciate your effort to implement the project in there @patjewell with your @smilesouthafrica.

I encourage all of our fellow steemian to support our project

I wish the project goes well to support the poverty in South Africa
