Birds on Broadway

These shots are of an art Exhibit Currently on Broadway from 64th Street to 157th Street and are by Artist Nicolas Holber, and is entitled Birdson Broadway the Audubon Sculpture project.
I noticed the first one after at 139th Street on a morning walk and I share the ones I saw from there down to 64th Street, well as I was looking up for info about it it seems I missed a few and may have to go back to catch sight of the rest of them
This public art exhibition is to raise awareness for bird species whose existence is threatened by climate change, while also bringing beauty to the urban landscape, and was funded through I Kickstarter project I believe along with Support from the New York Audubon Society..
This first one I share is on 177th Street and is a Common Goldeneye

This next one is on 96th Street and is a Brant,

And I guess it is a stretch but I will make this an entry for Feathered Friday

As I side note when finding out what Birds each sculpture was, I read that Holiber is the youngest artist to have a solo exhibition presented by the Broadway Mall Association. I loved the style he went for with these pieces

This next one is an American Bittern and is at 79th Street

And this is the last one I got shots of at 64th Street and is a Red-necked Greber with some small ones on its back.

Now I need to get back to Broadway and visit, 105th Street, and 139th Street ( which I must have walked by and completely missed seeing and then head up to catch the pieces at 148th Street and 157th Street so I will have seen them all, that's going to be a long walk one morning :)

that's all Folks

This image reminded me of the tanks of the first world war :0)

From the distance as I approached this I thought the same thing

These are amazing, @tattoodjay. Thank you for sharing these pictures, and the info about the artist. I found a link with cool info about about the project, as well as a video interview with the artist that includes a map of the sculpture placement. And you’re right that it started with a kickstarter campaign! What an amazing project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/967088629/nicolas-holiber-birds-on-broadway-audubon-sculptur

Thanks I think I saw the same video when I was researching the project I love how these have a more handcrafted simplistic style to them and how it is for a good cause

it is a lovely artwork

Isnt it just I love the handcrted smile feel to them

Oooh, I really like the cardinals. My wife always gets a little sentimental when she sees one.

I to love Cardinals, them and Bluejays are my favorite birds so I love the Cardinal one in this exhibit
