A new science fiction film has arrived on Netflix from few days, tells the story of a young girl who lives in a hyper-technological bunker together with a robot that she calls mother. I want to warn you that from now on you may run into some spoilers.

For a large part of the film we see, at the beginning to a laboratory child's birth, then to its growth up to the adolescence, constantly together and educated by the robot-mother, which keeps her away from the outside as the humanity has self-destroyed and the external environment is unlivable. The young girl, anxious and intrigued by what she can find in the real world, prepares to go out with an anti-radiation suit but just before that she hears a woman's voice asking for help from outside, the girl decides to let her in because she was hit by a bullet. At first the girl tries to hide the woman from the mother, but soon she will come to know about it and seems to be apprehensive about her health, when the woman sees the robot that is approaching her she looks terrified. From here the suspicions about the apparent goodness and tranquility of robot begin to spread.

The woman after being cured tells to the girl her story and to be careful from the bot, explains her that the robots hunt humans to kill them and are therefore forced to hide in the mines, while the robot warns the girl from the woman telling her that she might not be the good person that made her believe. The girl is very confused, not knowing who to trust can only investigate her mother, she will discover that not only the woman did not lie about the intent of the robot, but above all that she was one of the many experiments of the artificial intelligence and was still in life only because she had not failed the tests to which her mother submitted her. The prize for not having failed will be the birth of a new baby taken by the many tubes in the laboratory, chosen by the young girl. So it turns out that the newborn child of the first film scenes, which seem to make us understand that she was the little girl, were instead of just various sequences on the "lab rat" raised by the robot.

After this shocking discovery the two runs off from the bunker, the world is completely devastated, fog, sand and dead trees until they arrive in a plain where big machines are busy to take care of plantations, they finally reach a beach, where the woman he discovers living in an abandoned container and everything she had told the girl had been invented, no people, no mines, she was the only survivor and only needed company. The disappointment is too strong, the young woman goes back to take the newborn and first faces an impressive array of robots guarding the bunker and then the mother who will leave her in custody the child, the machines and the robots were all under the control of a single artificial intelligence and the girl will be entrusted with the rebirth of humanity, incapable until then of safeguarding itself from its own extinction.

A very fluent post-apocalyptic sci-fi film, a good choice not to name the characters, who will be called only mother, daughter and woman. An idea certainly not really original but studied and cared for quite well, important reflections about people's trust and the incapacity of humanity to care for and love their planet, thinking only of their own interests instead than their own future.

Un nuovo film di fantascienza è arrivato su Netflix da qualche giorno, narra la storia di una ragazzina che vive in un bunker iper tecnologico assieme ad un robot che chiama mamma. Ci tengo ad avvisarvi che da questo momento in poi potrete incappare in qualche spoiler.

Per buona parte del film si assiste, prima alla nascita in laboratorio di una bambina, dopodiché alla sua crescita fino ad arrivare all'adolescenza, costantemente accompagnata ed istruita dalla mamma-robot, la quale la tiene al riparo dall'esterno in quanto l'umanità si é auto-distrutta e l'ambiente esterno é invivibile. La ragazzina, ansiosa ed incuriosita da ciò che si trova al di fuori, si prepara per uscire con tanto di tuta anti-radiazioni ma poco prima sente una voce di donna che chiede aiuto proveniente dall'esterno, la ragazza decide di farla entrare in quanto é stata colpita da un proiettile. In un primo momento la ragazza cerca di nascondere alla madre la donna, ben presto però ne verrà a conoscenza e sembra essere apprensiva nei confronti della sua salute, nel momento in cui la donna vede il robot che le si sta avvicinando per curarla appare terrorizzata. Da qui iniziano a diffondersi i sospetti sull'apparente bravura e tranquillità del robot.

La donna dopo essere stata curata racconta alla ragazza la sua storia e la mette in guarda dal robot, le racconta che i robot danno la caccia gli umani per ucciderli e sono dunque costretti a nascondersi nelle miniere, al contempo il robot mette in guardia la ragazza dalla donna dicendole che potrebbe non essere la brava persona che le ha fatto credere. La ragazzina é molto confusa, non sapendo di chi fidarsi può soltanto indagare su sua madre, scoprirà così che non soltanto la donna non mentiva riguardo agli intenti del robot, ma soprattutto che lei fosse uno dei tanti esperimenti dell'intelligenza artificiale ed era ancora in vita soltanto perché non aveva fallito i test ai quali la madre la sottoponeva. Il premio per non aver fallito sarà la nascita di un nuovo pargolo preso dai tanti campioni presenti nel laboratorio, scelto proprio dalla ragazzina. Così si viene a scoprire che la bambina appena nata delle prime immagini, che sembrano fare intendere fosse la ragazzina, non erano invece che soltanto varie sequenze sulle cavie allevate dal robot.

Successivamente a questa scioccante scoperta le due fuggono dal bunker, il mondo é completamente devastato, nebbia, sabbia ed alberi morti fino a quando in una pianura delle grosse macchine sono impegnate a curare delle piantagioni, giungono infine in una spiaggia, nella quale la donna si scopre vivere in un container abbandonato e tutto ciò che aveva raccontato alla ragazza era stato inventato, niente persone, nessuna miniera, era l'unica sopravvissuta e necessitava soltanto di compagnia. La delusione é troppo forte, la giovane torna indietro per riprendere il neonato e affronta prima una schiera imponente di robot a guardia del bunker e successivamente la madre che le lascerà in affidamento il bimbo, le macchine ed i robot erano tutte quante sotto il controllo di un'unica intelligenza artificiale e verrà affidata alla bambina la rinascita dell'umanità, incapace fino ad allora di salvaguardarsi dalla propria estinzione.

Un film post-apocalittico fantascientifico molto scorrevole, bella la scelta di non dare alcun nome ai personaggi, i quali verranno chiamati soltanto madre, figlia e donna. Un'idea non certamente non originalissima ma studiata e curata abbastanza bene, riflessioni importanti quelle a riguardo alla fiducia sulle persone e l'incapacità dell'umanità di curare ed amare il proprio pianeta, pensando soltanto ai propri interessi anziché al proprio futuro.
