The Wrestler (2008)

Aside from the obvious comparisons to the Rocky franchise, this film was pretty brilliant. Rourke, clearly channeling past experience from his own career nailed the character. Broken and completely immersed in his own world, Rourke makes you ache when he does and drown in his disappointments too. A predictable storyline, sure. But it's told with heart and some of the cinematography was fantastic.
