MAP Rewarder: Distributed Rewards for 10 June 2018 (APR 20.9%)

This week's distributed profits are 0.400%, equivalent to an APR of 20.9%.
Total profits given out, including the Free Upvotes and SBI shares was 0.425% (APR 22.2%)

The gross income was 0.532%, and gross distributed profits (subtracting random payouts) were 0.497%. We have now adjusted the weekly distributions, with 10% going towards management and development and 10% to support the MAP community. Please note that the distribution is now 80% of gross profits. This adjustment has been made so that investor-delegators are not significantly affected by the random payouts made during the week.

Profits will be paid today to SP delegators in STEEM.

New Features - Random 100% Upvotes and Free SBI

I notice that many of our delegators have relatively modest amounts of SP delegated to MAP Rewarder. I appreciate their support, and they are earning a nice yield, but the weekly payouts obviously seem quite small. As part of MAP's mission is to support minnows, there will henceforth be two new forms of payout on top of the existing distribution: a random 100% upvote and a free SBI (SteemBasicIncome) share.

At the moment, this will be one random 100% upvote, given on a Friday. The only requirement is that the delegator must have published a post within the last 3 days that can be upvoted. I shall run a random number generator to select the winner; this will exclude accounts that manage MAP.

The SBI will be given out on a Saturday, please see MAP Rewarder Free SBI Saturday. Again, as SBIs are only valuable to upvote posts, the winner must show that they are posting regularly.

As of writing, a full upvote is worth about US$4 and one SBI share costs 1 STEEM, currently worth about US$ 2.50. These funds are taken from the gross profit and we have thus reduced the proportion going to MAP from 15% to 10% to cover these.

I hope this will stimulate some further delegations and will help some users make a significant return on their SP. But please remember that the first distributed profits will be received on the first Sunday after 7 day from the time of delegation - the cut-off is midday GMT on Sundays.

This week has continued to see returns that are above baseline for the Steem blockchain. Price volatility remains an issue, so that weekly returns and averages should be taken as trends. The price snapshots I take on a Sunday cannot be taken as indicative of the whole week, but do serve to show a relationship between rewards within the Steem blockchain and our MAP Rewarder returns.

In pure STEEM terms, upvotes are currently worth 0.456% per week per SP. This continues to be flat, edging lower, over the past 7 weeks, although I noticed that this had dropped further during the week. However, adjusted for 25% curation rewards, 50-50 payouts and the blockchain price of SBD ($2.30 as of writing) this yields only 0.345% per week per SP in dollar terms. This is due to the lower market prices of both STEEM and SBD.

Within this context, our gross profit of 0.532% is significantly higher than the market average. Our distributed profits of 0.400% are also much higher than the 0.345% being generated by pure self-voting. A reminder that these figures are snapshots of the market and that swings within the week affect income.

Also worth highlighting that our percentages are a true reflection of earnings and measure like with like, that is, income is generated from SP, which is priced in STEEM, and distributed as STEEM.

Those of you who delegate to bidbots and other income sources should look at your actual returns as a percentage of SP, priced in STEEM, rather than just SBD. I shall continue the current mixed strategy and see how this affects the following week.

One other metric to bear in mind, is the number of upvotes given to MAP members. I have estimated this to be the equivalent of 0.05%, based on the MAP Rewarder fund, which is about 9% of earnings. The majority of these upvotes come from the @rycharde account so that they do not interfere with the earnings of the fund, and are taken from the 10% allocated to MAP.

A reminder that we have two missions: to be profitable to delegators and to support our minnow content creators. The @accelerator account, ignoring the delegated SP, is growing slowly but steadily and forms the basis of our upvotes to minnows who are MAP members.

Advice

As part of our MAP Rewarder strategy, all posts by @accelerator will, at some point, receive an upvote from a bidbot. I usually leave this for a few hours to allow our followers to upvote our posts before the arrival of a larger upvote. I know that a few have noticed this and are taking advantage of the opportunity to earn some extra curation rewards. Look at any post with large upvotes and you will see that some of the early upvoters are earning back even more than their upvote! The power of mathematics. :-)

To do so means either following just the posts of @accelerator or also the upvotes given out. This can be done within an app such as SteemAuto. Using the language used on SteemAuto, following and upvoting just the @accelerator posts is called the Fanbase; following our upvotes to earn extra curation rewards is called the Curation Trail.
