MAP Rewarder Reaches First Anniversary!
Our first announcement of the MAP Rewarder fund was back on the 10th February, 2018, with our first payout on the following weekend.
Looking back, those were the days of high SBD price and rampant bidbots churning those Steem Backed Dollars till we inevitably hit the then 5% ceiling and the printing presses came to a grinding halt. At the time, we could achieve returns of about 30-40% APR precisely because of that debt inflation.
Now, with prices lower and the debt ceiling being regularly triggered, we can still achieve 17-19% yields – even higher for those delegators who receive one of our bonuses.
The underlying philosophy has not really changed over the year. The one major tweak was the development of "bonuses", on top of the weekly distributions, so as to change the profit curve. Now, large delegators obviously receive larger payouts in STEEM, but smaller delegations can receive larger earnings in percentage terms through various freebies.
On top of a small daily upvote, delegators have also been beneficiaries of Free Vote Friday and Free SBI Saturday. During the period before New Year, I experimented with a daily upvote and this seemed to work well.
So, to celebrate our First Birthday, I shall continue with daily bonuses for February – and possibly beyond.
So, every day I shall randomly select either an upvote or an SBI and then randomly select the lucky recipient of the bonus. Some days may be “dry”, just to ensure that all bonuses beyond the weekly profit distributions remain below 5%.
The upvote will be with a percentage equal to the calendar date; the SBI will remain at one share per day.
A reminder that both the upvotes and SBIs are useless without posting; some delegators are merely interested in generating a passive income, and that’s fine, but in order to be eligible for one of these bonuses there must be a recent post or comment.
