The situation in Aceh dock

At the time of the sultanate of Aceh Darussalam in Sumatra (the 15th century until the early 20th century), Aceh is a port city in the world maritime trade lanes.

Bandar Aceh Darussalam - that its name at the old times - is a bustling town, and very busy with various trade activities. People from west and east met at the center of this trade, and sell various commodities which they had brought from each of them countries. In the book "Oud en Nieuw Oost Indien" by Francois Valentijn (1666–1727; Holland naturalist and writer.), Aceh port is described like this.

But today, all that has changed. Port in Aceh, now, just a fish base, though included in bases of the fish that are taken into account in this country. Some of the activity and the sides of the dock is like you see in the pictures below:

Some hawkers selling stuff needed. And there was also seen a crowd of people that was looking at the fish catches by fishermen.

Boxes of fish were left on base after so much has been removed to be distributed to various places in the country.
