Uvítalo je svěží slunečné ráno. Po včerejším dešti se nad hladinou rybníka povaloval mlžný závoj a všechny rostliny byly posety tisícem stříbrných perel.

They were greeted by a fresh sunny morning. After yesterday's rain, a fog veil lay over the surface of the pond, and all the plants were strewn with a thousand silver pearls.

He glanced at each plant, inhaling the fresh morning scent.
Ashley was running around him, not disturbing the beauty. Sometimes he looked at him uncomprehendingly as he admired the drops on the plants. Perhaps he wondered why his man would stop at such ordinary things and ignore the smell that had been blown by a faint breeze from nearby grazing deer.
He confirmed to Ashley that he knew about the doe. In return, he let him know by sniffing and licking the drops on the grass that he, too, had noticed the water.

Walking with Sofia was not such an idil. She needed to run a lot and trotted behind her as she pulled him behind. There was no time to admire the beauty around. He had to be careful that Sofia would not get tangled under his feet as she circled wildly around him.

When he put Sofia in a pen, he went for a walk again to enjoy the beauty that he was giving out with his hands full this morning.

During the day he did some housework and after an evening walk with the dogs he went back to the pond for a while. His shores were empty. A light breeze rippled the surface. Nature was beginning to sleep.

Pohledem hladil každou rostlinku, plnými doušky vdechoval svěží ranní vůni.
Ashley kolem něj pobíhal a nijak se nad tou krásou nevrušoval. Občas se na něj nechápavě zadíval, když obdivoval kapky na rostlinách. Nejspíše mu bylo divné, proč se jeho člověk zastavuje u takových obyčejných věcí a nevšímá si třeba pachu, který sem zavál slabý vánek od nedaleko se pasoucí srny.
Potvrdil Ashleymu pohledem, že o srně ví. Ten mu dal na oplátku očicháním a olíznutím kapek na trávě vědět, že i on vodu zaregistroval.

Procházka se Sofií taková idylka nebyla. Potřebovala se pořádně vyběhat a tak za ní místy klusal, jak ho táhla za sebou. Nebyl čas obdivovat krásu kolem. Musel dávat pozor, aby se mu Sofie nezamotala pod nohy, když divoce kroužila kolem něj.

Když odložil Sofii do kotce, vypravil se znovu na procházku, aby si dosyta užil krásy, které mu dnešní ráno rozdávalo plnými dlaněmi.

Během dne se věnoval nějaké činnosti v domácnosti a po večerní procházce se psy se šel na chvíli znovu podívat k rybníku. Jeho břehy zely prázdnotou. Hladinu čeřil lehký vánek. Příroda se začínala ukládat ke spánku.
