My Actifit Report Card: June 3 2019
This morning I set out on my normal walk to Maurie Jacobs Park and the Owen Rose Garden. But as I was approaching the rose garden it looked like they were doing some maintenance work so I turned back around. On my way back up the path I spotted an interesting crested waterfowl with a bunch of babies (a merganser, I think). As I approached to get a better picture they moved from the bank into the water, so I may have scared them. But while they were out on the water I did get to see the amusing sight of several of the babies climbing up to hitch a ride on the adult’s back. They’re a little hard to make out in the photos due to the distance, but the river in that area was also very pretty in the morning sunlight.
