RE: My thoughts and suggestions for Actifit.

in #actifit5 years ago

I very much think @actifit needs to have functionality for the AFIT tokens sooner then later as many of us have been accumulating these getting on towards a year now. Having no functionality other than exchanging a very small amount for an upvote about every 4 day's. This is making it harder to recommend @actifit to people as when they ask what I can do with these tokens and that answer is nothing yet bar the steem upvote as mentioned.

Asking how long this has been going and answering almost a year it is not a good look. And having at last communication a time frame of 2-3 months before the IEO and token functionality to happen sometime after that this will be well past a years wait time.

I know that part of the issue was steemit inc not getting the SMTs out on time though AFITs were available for sale on the Steem-engine we still can not transfer from our earned AFITs from posting reports and delegation etc. I would very much like to have some response from @actifit on what there thoughts are about moving forward and gives us a proper update on the situation.

I have been ticking this over in my head all day, and it makes sense to me. Progress externally will inevitably be slow. Just when it looks like crypto winter is over, STEEM fails to sustain any gains, and slides further down the market cap rankings. This and other factors would cause delays and uncertainty for IEO's. Steemhunt led the way, but their token has more than halved since listing. My thoughts are that the use case needs to be in place, and proven prior to any significant exchange listings.

I am not at all critical of the team, all of the technical stuff going on here is way beyond my capabilities. But in crypto, currently timing is everything. Is the timing right for Actifit to be listed yet externally? Should the use case and sustainability of the project be proven more before that occures? STEEM engine offers a solution, enhancing the use case through powering up, and all the rest, plus some price discovery and exchangability. A 2 way bridge between the AFIT wallet and STEEM Engine would be a great first step. Adding powering up, SCOT bot and so on could turn Actifit from an upvote service for daily activity reports into a real fitness community.

I know @actifit have been doing great work and are trying to get things to a point that should drive good value for the AFIT tokens. I am just concerned that much more delay in usability of AFITs will do more harm then good. Things are really starting move in crypto and could be very easy to get left behind. Knowing AFITs have been able to be purchased through Steem-engine and that Steem-engine has so much functionality now it just may be a very good way to move ahead and fast.

Most definitely agree. I'd love to hear other Actifiters thoughts as well.

hey guys @jk6276 @j85063,

Thank you for these thoughts and this communication, we love hearing what everyone is thinking, and find those good opportunities to help Actifit with more ideas!

Indeed we are continuously working on so many ways to grow Actifit and to make sure it only grows positively.

In terms of the Scot and related development, yes we find those great improvements and work by aggroed and co, and although we did run our ISO on steem-engine, yet most of the functionality, including staking, is something that is already part of the current actifit functional model, since current AFIT tokens are actually in "power up" mode if you'd like.
Our reward model works differently than how the scot approach enables, including items such as the user rank, reward calculation and dispatch etc... that i believe we are better off with the current model at hand.

Add to that, yes timing is critical but also making the proper moves counts, which is why we have taken the IEO process slowly. We cannot tell you how many times we have been so close to proceeding with a deal, only to halt it due to finding that the team with whom we will be cooperating is less than professional, or that the deal can backfire to Actifit and its users. We have seen many IEOs fail, and we wouldn't want to make that a case for Actifit. Also listing on exchanges which happens without proper planning can lead to huge price dumps. We want to protect the interests of our Actifitters to be best of our potential.

We have so much faith in Actifit, the project's vision, and the awesome community around it, that we just want to make the best decisions, hopefully, when moving forward.

There has been so many things we've been working on in the background, and one of those is actually with @wil.metcalfe .. funny you mentioning him as we had a call at 3 AM in the morning yesterday lol.
We are actually approaching the launch of the first real use case for AFIT tokens (in addition to exchange for STEEM upvotes), and we haven't announced this yet, but we plan on progressively launching actifit supported professional services, including AFIT payments for online training, consultation,.... We plan to start making this available in the coming few weeks, and we believe this will have a huge impact on the whole platform.

Also another insider info .. expect a new version of Actifit in the coming few weeks ;)

oh and hopefully you've been claiming your badges on actifit.io, we just released a new one yesterday :)

Thanks for replying @mcfarhat is the current plan still to do the IEO and than bring full functionality to AFITs after? Glad you are being diligent with trying to make the best choices to make @actifit viable going forward. Awesome news we should have some real use for AFITs very soon👍 A new version of @actifit do you mean the website or the app?

Anytime @j85063,
IEOs are still on the table, and we actually signed a recent deal with a new marketing firm that would help us raising funds via IEO and/or private investment.
In parallel, we are continuing development on the platform as well as initiating the use cases for AFIT tokens.
New version would be of the app, Android for now, and then iphone following.

Thanks @mcfarhat for enlightening us on actifits progress👍

New badge... better go get it.😁

I am extremely grateful for your response here, and appreciate your time with such a detailed comment. I love kicking around ideas, and to receive a response from the project founder really reinforces why Actifit is my favourite STEEM DApp. Sometimes I find floating around an idea the best way to actually clarify why the current approach is preferable. I do still think a tokenbb (or scotbb) forum on the actifit website would be a good addition.

The cautious approach to the IEO process makes a lot of sense. It is murky waters, and I'm glad you have the community front of mind, along with sustaining the token value.

The reward model comments make sense to me.

Looking forward to see the use case with professional services roll out.

Thanks again for the response, and some insider info even.

Always a pleasure @jk6276 !
Sorry forget to answer about the forum, he tokenbb forum is actually something we signed up for when it was announced. Our actifit forum has been setup and domain was booked with tokenbb team, we need to actually work on the categories and the content. We havent had the time to focus on that, but we plan to give it more attention soon.
