Bỗng dưng một năm nọ, em thôi hoặc quên chúc mừng ngày sinh nhật của tôi. Năm đấy tôi vẫn nhắn tin vượt nửa vòng trái đất để chúc em có một tuổi mới thật hạnh phúc. Em đáp lời cảm ơn.
Năm tiếp theo, em vẫn quên, tôi vẫn chúc, lần này thì em chỉ seen nhưng không đáp.
Năm tiếp theo nữa, cả tôi và em đều lờ đi ngày sinh của nhau. Thế là một thói quen nhiều năm vụt tan biến.
Bỗng dưng một năm nọ, tôi không còn gặp em trong ngày Tết, hết lì xì một tờ tiền nước khác mà không-trùng-với-bất-cứ-năm-nào-trước-đó-nữa.
Bỗng dưng một năm nọ, chúng tôi nói chuyện thật trống không bởi không biết xưng hộ theo kiểu "ngày xưa" hay theo kiểu "người lạ"
Bỗng dưng theo thời gian, mọi thứ dần trở nên thật xa lạ.
