My Actifit Report Card: December 2 2018 - The Rabbit Kits Have Been Waned

Hey Steemians and actifiters, went to church today and did some dancing and singing unto the Lord. Came back from church had lunch went out to no place in particular just walking around to to gain points and observe the beauty of my environment.

Went to check up on the Gina and Bettys’ kits (baby rabbits) I have waned them by removing their mothers from the cage and putting the does in a new cage. The kits remain where they were born so that they don’t panic over a new environment. That is how I normally wane my rabbits, the kits always remain in their birth place until they grow old enough and they all are then moved to their own individual cages. I try to do this before they are 3 months of age so that they are not sexually active and start in-breeding which won’t be a good thing.

One funny thing you’ll notice about the kits is that at this stage they don’t miss their mama, at least we don’t see that. Once there is food in the cage they eat away, before the doe was even removed their mother was competing with them for food. Once food is put inside they are all over the food such that their mother even finds it hard to get something to eat. I have never seen a doe hitting her kits or beating they just to get some food. But I see them kicking their kits away when they want to wane them and the kits keep trying to suck her breast. I have done a video of the kits eating and will edit it and upload it tomorrow on my DTube channel so kept a date with me on that, you can also checkout other Rabbit videos I’ve posted to see their story so far.
