#freewrite :: 5 minute freewrite - Prompt: seed saving

Life is beautiful. When a new plant grows, we feel a sense of happiness, joy and hope. Over the years, I have been seed saving whenever possible and trying my luck to grow them. Some plants grow very easily from seeds and some take a bit more time. But it is always exciting to try if the seeds grow and especially thrilling when they start to fruit.

So far, I have tried with papaya, chili, capsicum, spinach, lemon, lime and rock melon. My papaya plant has been growing but has not fruit yet. My chili and capsicum have been successful. They need a lot of water and nutrients. My mom used to feed them tea leaves that have been brewed for the day. When the little flowers start to bloom, it will be time for it to fruit. The flower will drop and the fruit will start to grow.

My plants do not grow that well because I am quite far from having green fingers and for these little babies to grow, I was exhilarated and words could not describe how happy I was when they grew to a point that I could harvest and cook them.

A good walk around the house from preparing breakfast, lunch, sweeping, mopping, keeping the laundry with a little bit of dancing and a good walk at the end of the day to the grocer.
