My Actifit Report Card: January 20 2020

Hi! Today I went to visit a Catalan distillery of the Mascaró house.

They have made a presentation of the process of distillation of their products. Its most relevant product is Brandy, formerly known as "cognac", but due to procedural issues this designation was banned in the product a few decades ago.

They have also explained the development of their products. What ingredients they use to distill, for Brandy the must is used, from natural grapes from their own vineyards. To make this distillate a still is used.

Distillation in alembic is a complex and curious process that comes from the Arab culture. After distillation, the alcohol is stored in barrels in its cellar at cold temperatures and is maintained for a time that may vary according to the product.

Finally, they have explained how they select their product and how their aromas are worked before bottling. Finally they have invited us to the range of their star products.
