SBI Saturday - Yay! : December 1 2018
It's been a really busy Saturday - working on my business plan this morning and then into the City centre this afternoon running errands. There's a beautifully decorated tree by the Clock Tower and Christmas lights down each shopping street. It looks magical, especially after dark.
Here's this year's tree at St Pancras International station in London. It's always lovely to see the trimmings at Christmas, but I must admit I find this year's theme a little alarming ...
The tree is being dressed by a slightly ominous robot, helping another silver creature place a Tiffany's bottle at the top of the tree. The robot's head moves back and forth, flashing its hollow eyes at you. Scary!
Anyway, on to SBI Saturday.
Steem Basic Income (SBI) is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.
Steem Basic Income (SBI) Frequently Asked Questions
I bought some extra steem recently to increase my SBI sponsorship of community accounts. I really like the way community accounts have developed over the past year around different communities of interest. They present an opportunity to bring more resources together through delegated Steem Power, which is used, in turn, to provide more upvotes to a wider range of Steemians.
I have sponsored individual accounts with SBI shares in the past, and other people have sponsored me (thank you), but I prefer now to sponsor community accounts as I feel they can support more Steemians and help them to grow. It seems a good way of extending the original idea of Steem Basic Income.
I had aleady sponsored some accounts - @needleworkmonday, @runningproject, @pifc, @chops.support and @adollarday. This time I'm adding two new accounts to the portfolio @cleanplanet and @steemclub-uk, as well as continuing to build some of the accounts I've previously sponsored.
Here's the full list:
Account | Previous rounds | This round | Total SBI shares |
---|---|---|---|
@adollaraday | 8 | 17 | 25 |
@chops.support | 25 | - | 25 |
@cleanplanet | - | 25 | 25 |
@needleworkmonday | 35 | 15 | 50 |
@pifc | 4 | - | 4 |
@runningproject | 10 | 15 | 25 |
@steemclub-uk | - | 25 | 25 |
All these accounts do a really great job. Please do go and have a look at what they're doing and, if you feel like supporting them, consider sponsoring some sbi shares or delegating some SP.
Now that you're here, I want to introduce you to @impactn, an ambitious project to contribute to social impact through work towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Please have a look at their introductory post and find out more about them.
Aw, it's a cute robot! LOL
You would freak out if you ever flew in to Denver. Outside the airport, we have a statue the locals affectionately call "Bluecifer." It's not only scary looking, but it fell on its sculptor and killed him.
Yes, its eyes really glow red. This thing is several stories tall, and you have to drive past it to enter or exit the airport! XD
Blimey! What was anybody thinking? I'll be coming by Amtrak, if I ever get round to coming to Denver.
Usually, people take lots of selfies by the tree at St Pancras but I noticed that wasn't happening this year.
There's a statue of the Dragon at Krakow which breathes fire:

I got a cute version where he's encased in one of those snowing glass globes.
Apparently when an Egyptian exhibit was at the museum, they put a giant statue of Anubis at the airport, staring at everybody in the security line.
You know, the Egyptian God of DEATH. Before they got on an airplane.
DIA (Denver International Airport) is fodder for all sorts of conspiracy theories, so they're doing some remodels or repairs now, and covered up the construction zones with these walls that own that and say things like, "What are we doing back here?? It's so suspicious!!"
Thank you very much for this !!!
@cleanplanet
Looking forward to doing lots of cleanups with you!
These are definitely some awesome choices for SBI's @shanibeer nice list.
Thank you @simonjay :) Have you got any other good recommendations?
@shanibeer, cleanplanet is a good choice.

I agree 😎 I have only done one clean-up with them so far, but I am looking forward to doing more.
That's such a great idea- I hadn't thought of sponsoring community accounts with SBI. I often want to support but dont have the funds to delegate at present- but SBI is the gift that keeps on giving 😀 Will be following your lead!
E x
Yes, it's a win-win for everyone!
@shanibeer, cleanplanet is a good choice.
