Central American adventures

Hi Steemians! So here we are now, my girlfriend Tena and I, in beautiful mountain town San Cristobal de las Casas in Mexico after already 3 months of traveling away from Europe. We decided to go on this journey to escape the winter, see new cultures and try to live of our talents and volunteering as much as possible. During the summer we worked on some festivals in Europe selling self made health food like energy balls and herbal teas , and hand made jewelery to collect as much money as we can. It worked quite good😊

Tena has already been to these parts two times and feels quite at home. She also speaks Spanish and that makes the whole journey much more easier for me! And I have not traveled much too far from my home town or flew a plane. So I had to do a lot of coming out of my comfort zones. Specialy after hearing lots of stereotype negative propaganda from the media and my parents about Mexico and south American countries.

The journey took us so far from Yucatan peninsula with steemy hot weather and beautiful turquise waters, mountain towns like San Cristobal and San Jose del Pacifico, pacific beaches of Oaxaca to tropical rainy Veracruz and magical vulcanic lake Atitlan in Guatemala. We saw an ancient ruin in the jungle, stayed with some Tenas old friends, met wonderful new friends and contributed volunteering to a tribal festival Cosmic Convergence for new years in Guatemala. Tryed many new foods,smells and feelings. Saw mostly warm and welcoming smiled faces every place we came!

Ahhhh writing this passages from our cozy bed in our current hostel fills me up with warmth and gratefullness as I have never done anything like this before! I have so much to share with you and will continue posting! Further adventures will bring us to the biggest nudist beach in Mexico (Zipolite) so we get our buts tanned a bit haha and after that we will fly to Columbia for the World Rainbow Gathering! But lets take it slowly! More interesting content will follow so keep tuned.
