Adverts of yesteryear that will most likely shock you.
I was having a look at some adverts today from ages past and it is interesting to see what was acceptable then.Some are actually funny now and most likely had a way different meaning back then.

That was fairly mild but oh so wrong and kind of embarrassing looking back at what they created for their ads back then. He had two drinks I suppose is what they are saying and I have no idea really.

Lock your daughters up for any beer drinkers. They are saying what he is probably thinking. I can't see that one making it through and most likely will be banned. There are way worse ones though and I think it is the language that has changed and words meaning different things.I hope so anyway as that is the only excuse i can come up for some of these.

This is the last one tonight and the worst of the bunch. Never heard of a mimsy and don't want to know what it is.I googled it and yes it was called a mimsy prior to world war 2 apparently. See how the words change,but it still means the same thing we were all thinking.

I couldn't believe what I was reading and more shocked ,but funny at the same time.
LOL .... Hilarious that advertisements were like this back then. Because I remember when I was a kid, there was MUCH more censorship and much more “needing to be politically correct”. For example, almost every “bad word” on TV used to be bleeped out. But now it’s pretty much just the word F^<K that gets bleeped out. Interesting stuff, to see how acceptability keeps changing with the times.
I find it interesting as well to see how times change and where things have moved to. The Lux one was a shocker and really thought "no way" must be something else.
🤣🤣🤣 Yeah seems like the most vulgar for sure... You can only imagine how embarrassed women must have been buying that product at the store... 😬🤣

Never thought of that and it was called a kebab soap which I think makes it sound worse than a bar of soap.

Maybe you are right as kebab is kind of out of place. Still funny though and spoofs are alright.
HEhe, I likea spoof. my mate sent me that one on facebook a while ago and we used Mimsy non stop for months. Its a great word!
It is a real word as well which was used nearly 100 years ago. I have a new word to add to my vocabulary.
Hehe, some of the best words are real ones but really old and unknown!
