"The Weekend Wash-Up" AFL Fantasy Classic Review + Summary!
Hi Everyone,
Round 19 is complete and so is the home and away season for 2018.
Finals next week so let’s take a look at the weekend results before we check out our finalists.
Round 19 Results:
With both teams out of reach of the Top 4 but safe in the 8 there was not a whole lot on the line between Hannibals Leftovers and Niges Cats.
Niges Cats got the confidence boost and locked down 5th spot with a 2276 – 2175 victory.
Mmeow was safe in 2nd whilst my team (@dahmsy79) was safe in the Top 4 but there was still the small matter of a Bounty to be decided this week.
Mmeow just keeps on winning at the moment and sharpened her Premiership credentials in a thriller, winning 2330 – 2315.
BraphB was also safe in the Top 4 but did have the chance to move into 3rd place with a victory which would mean dodging the unbeaten Medhurst Minions in the first final.
BraphB comprehensively fulfilled his end by getting the 2nd highest score of the round 2386 defeating Cunning Stunts is Back Again’s poultry 1450.
In further good news for BraphB, I (@dahmsy79) lost to Mmeow meaning he moved into 3rd spot.
Interestingly the only player to score more than BraphB this round was Medhurst Minions so Braph will be breathing a sigh of relief to be in 3rd spot.
Adro’s Assassins had to win to keep his spot in the top 8 and win he did, defeating Little Old Lady 2276 – 1886.
The Assassins finished in 8th spot and will be playing in the Finals.
As touched on above our league high scorer this week was our undefeated ladder leader Medhurst Minions.
The Minions put us all on further notice with a 2399 score against the incomplete NZL19500.
Lions4Life needed to win and hoped the Assassins lost in order to make the 8.
Unfortunately for the Lions his 2220 – 1945 victory over Steemit Huskies was in vain as the Assassins won meaning a 9th placed finish for Lions4Life.
Lockout did not have a whole lot to play for this week other than protecting a Bounty given he could not make Top 4 but was safe in the 8.
In a huge shock we got our first Draw for the year in the last Round!
Lockout 1948 draws Just2Random 1948.
Huge effort for Just2Random to secure a draw against a Top 8 opponent even though he was out of contention and I think that deserves a Bounty!
Piston-Broke hasn’t had the greatest season in the classic format but he finished his year off in style, defeating Kulate 1853 – 1613.
Buffalo Bison’s is not playing finals either this season but also finished his year in style winning 2015 – 1744 over I Wear Footy Pajamas.
This means the Final 8 looks like this:
