UAE Appoints a Minister of AI
The government of UAE has announced the new cabinet and it includes a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence. Yet another witness to the fact that AI is advancing at a breathtaking rate today.
UAE tries to be number 1 in everything, and I think this, too, may be a first in the world. Anyway, establishing a ministry of AI is a step like Google that recently changed its development motto from “Mobile First” to “AI First”.
AI is going to affect every aspect of our lives in the near future. No just smartphones, every device of our future homes will be equipped with AI chips.
As exciting as this is, some scientists have warned about the possible threats arising from a rapid progress of AI. Steven Hawking and Elon Musk are among the scientists who have warned about these risks for the future of human beings.
Yep, conventional power structures will do what they can to remain in power.
But there are ways in which we can also develop our own power, as people of the planet.
