AIR-CLINIC PUBLIC FORUM 17: Should Cannabis Be Legalized?

It's a beautiful morning and about time for us to examine our ideologies. This is the 17th episode of ACPF where we give our followers/ members the opportunity to contribute to trending and useful health-related topics.
Recently in Nigeria, codeine prescription and use was banned in Nigeria. As we all know, cannabis has already been termed a drug of abuse. Infact it's growth is illegal in the country.
That doesn't mean that there are no cannabis users in the country. Infact alot of people ranging from street hoppers to artistes use this substance all the time.
Aside the harmful effects like the likelihood of schizophrenia, there have been claims albeit unverified that it cures many types of ailments like cancer. So many groups are out there campaigning for the legalization of cannabis.
So what do you think the government should do? Should Cannabis be legalized?

We all know that whether or not cannabis is legalized doesn't matter because the regulatory system of the country is poor. In honesty, I think cannabis has done more good than harm and men are gonna go miles to make sure they get some to light up. Thank you.
I believe the ban has been long overdue.
As for cannabis, we shall see what becomes of it.
Banning a drug that is commonly used even when there was restrictions on its use to me is not the best thing to do.
If the people are adequately educated on the negative effects of such drugs, it's used will naturally reduce. To legalize cannabis at this level of mass illiteracy will not help us.
To me it should be legalized because of it's positive benefits but before then, an awareness and enlightenment should be carried out so people should know about it's effects both good and bad.
Also if it's been legalized, it shouldn't be made available for everyone...
The use of cannabis in the country is well known and it used abusively, legalizing it ... I am not ok with it
