'Chima,that song is funny. Who sang it', I asked.

'I don't know o. I just like it. It's more like a jingle against marijuana consumption', Chima added.

'Buh bro, I don't believe Marijuana can make someone go mad. I feel those guys who run mad did other things that possibly led to their madness. Chima you guys at NDLEA know that Marijuana has more beneficial effects and little side effects. I'm sure you do', Stanley chipped in.

'You no well o. Abeg when did you study medicine or pharmacy', I asked looking at Stanley's direction.

'Um guys it's ok. Stanley undoubtedly marijuana has positive effects. There are medicinal uses too. In fact, there's this type of marijuana known as medicinal marijuana. Some of the uses include: treatment of pain, preventing worsening of glaucoma, weight control and others. However, it's uncommon here and in most countries. The reason is because those medicinal purposes can be done by other drugs with less side effects than marijuana. Why we fight marijuana use is because it's highly abused. Abuse means when you are using something for what it's not intended. Marijuana acts mainly on the central nervous system. It creates this euphoric feeling or what people call 'highness'. It's mainly for this reason that the consumers keep craving for it. And we also consider the effect of long term usage. It can predispose to lungs cancer. It can cause impaired judgement. It impairs perception and motor skills and yes, these factors increase risk of madness. Most importantly, prolong use of it can make the users to want to try stronger drugs like cocaine. And you know what that means. So bro, join NDLEA in the fight. Let's sanitise our society', Chima said smilingly.
