This is a cool idea, it's interesting to get a glimpse into the research process especially.
Always frustrates me when i spend hours researching something only to realise I'm not going to actually use it, maybe i should do something like this to at least get some use out if that stuff.
I love learning, so research is never really wasted. Besides, even if I don't need it right now, it still adds to my experience and is likely to come back at a later point. Even if it's something as simple as telling my husband the difference between a sheath and a scabbard - which I had looked up to make sure I was using the correct term for my shazes. I want to give the best picture possible. :-)
