My "Steem Ambassador" Application - PROMO-STEEM - @jackmiller
The purpose of this post is to apply for the position of Steem Ambassador in the Promo-Steem program.

On the visual side of things here, some may know me by my old avatar still, "Jack The Miner" as I called it, which I replaced with a professionally designed avatar and logo.
My new avatar is:
I am an Australian, have worked in many countries on this planet of ours that we call Earth and am currently 110% devoted and dedicated to making Steem become everything it can.
For those who don't yet know me as a Steemian can find out more as to what I am currently doing in my last Witness-update:
For those who have read my update you shall see that I am fully active and motivated to make things happen for Steem and with that all us Steemians.
Rather than overload everyone here with talk about "me" I believe that this interview (post) by a fellow Steemian @jamesmovic which was done as a part of his project "Meet a whale..." could very well give a crystal clear picture as to where I stand on many things and some details about me that may or may not be relevant to Promo-Steem, but are relevant in the process of Presenting myself to the public, in this case to the members of Promo-Steem who shall be assessing this application.
Likewise I do enjoy a few moments out in the sun, just relaxing and enjoying the gifts and beauties of nature.
Last year my wife @sylviamiller and I dedicated post earning from many of our posts here to add to the Christmas donations we do every year.
As all Australians are taught from a very young age "Sharing is caring".

This year there shall be even more, as all the blocks produced by my witness server are going towards our charity donations. I have paid for my server for 12 months in advance.
Most importantly our children are involved every step of the way, learning through good deeds that "Sharing is caring"

My wife and I have recruited over 20 new Steemians, most of whom are fairly active, believe it or not, the ones who are still here and post are those people we are not related to or hang out with often!
However, enough about us and how we have made Steem a part of our lives, time to get back to the formal application:
What are the reasons you want to become a Steem Ambassador & What are your future Plans as a Steem Ambassador:
I know that I can incorporate the job of a Promo-Steem / Steem Ambassador in my current plans and everything I am doing along with what I have planned shall nicely coincide with this role.
Basically, with my plans for promoting Steem I can easily do the job of Steem Ambassador, although my job as Steem Ambassador may go further than just what is described in the general description as there is so much potential out there to promote Steem in so many ways.
Likewise if we take into consideration the fact that Australia is a continent, which is practically the same size as The USA, then it is obvious how my job as a Steem Ambassador shall have to be decentralized and coordinated on a much different level to that of many other Steem Ambassadors. With my current plans and projects that I have happening, it will be a pleasure to incorporate Promo-Steem and to help network more Steemians in the united goal of making Steem everything it can be.
My current role as a Steem witness fully aligns with the goals and objectives of Promo-Steem:
• To provide a mechanism for rewarding high quality promotion of Steemit and the STEEM blockchain.
• To create a community within the community, being the worlds first decentralized promotional network made up entirely of volunteers
• To support and motivate promoters to not only onboard new users and investors, but to encourage them to stay on the platform.
• To work in a way that grows the price of STEEM
Likewise I fully agree with the following statement:
.....we can prove that we have a built in, decentralized solution that filters out the spam, and has a level of integrity built into it that is in line with the general ethos of the majority of the community, and that adds real value to them…because what we are doing is growing the price of STEEM, and that in itself is worth supporting!
I fully believe and and wholeheartedly convinced that I can incorporate the role and job of a Promo-Steem Steem Ambassador into my current responsibilities and duties as a Steem Witness as not only do the goals and objectives coincide, but also in my plans I have already included activities including but not limited to projects and programs that fulfill all of the Promo-Steem criteria.
Hence, it is a perfect opportunity to use my efforts to help expand Promo-Steem and to ensure this project networks out all over my country.
Looking at it sincerely and realistically, I know that this is the right thing to do.
I believe in networking and building bridges between communities. So this entire project "Promo-Steem" sits perfectly with me and my stand on how to go about building a better future for Steem and all us Steemians.
What many people still do not see is the potential that Steem offers this world, it is something that is hard to comprehend because never in the history of mankind has such an opportunity existed on an international level.

After listening to this podcast/recording, I am sure that you too can envision the future of Steem and why it is so important to all of us to give it everything we've got to make this dream come true.

What can I say. First of all, congratulations for that great family you have. Secondly, I must thank you for your community and social work, not many donate money and dedicate time to help others. Finally, you just have to say that we can help you, you will surely do a great job as an ambassador.

Where do you stand on paid upvoting bots, and on selling/buying witness votes?
Sorry if that's in the video or other links, but I'm posting "on the fly" this morning, and don't have time to dig deeper, atm.
On the "bid bots" as most of us refer to them, well, they are a business for those who run them and they are in line with the Steem code and protocol, so basically I can see how they can be used as a tool and unfortunately abused by "shitposters".
Many point the finger at the service providers, while in fact the problem isn't in them, it is in those that use the service in a way that undermines this entire endeavour and the whole idea of "Proof of Brain".
Although, some would say that scheming their way to money takes a bit of "brains too".
I don't own, run or delegate to any of the "bid bots". I do however run/manage some community orientated bots, i.e. @anzub and @umvbot.
I also use a bot to manage @witnesspage.
So none of us are imune from using bots, again, I stress, as long as they are used as a tool/aid and for good.
Witness votes, tell me who sells them and at what price?
I was told that one (now former) witness used to outright pay for votes, I asked him about it and he openly said that he was awarding people who voted for him back when he first started his campaign (last year).
With the added explanation that he then didn't see any other way of making it.
Apart from that one case, I can't say I know of anyone who pays for votes. A lot of talk, but nothing to back it up, as is the case with many of the "hear say" chit chat whispering and accusations going on around here. Give me a name, or names, with block numbers in which the payments were made and I'll be more than glad to look into it.

Personally, I believe Steemit can only succeed, long term, when bid bots are no longer "in line with the Steem code and protocol."
Many have that opinion and I believe that the anger needs to be directed towards the abusers, not those who offer a service that can be used in an effective and profitable manner for one and all.
You may recall, Ned presented an addition that can serve as a perfect "solution" to all those who disagree with "bid bots" yet unfortunately there was only a few posts written up about it, zero debates or open conversations, while the entire time the constant complaining about bid bots went on and on.
The CEO of Steemit shows that he and his team are listening to us Steemians and "we" as a collective just ignored him and his well thought out strategy to ensuring all Steemians are satisfied with the options we have here. That made me very sad.
Yet, I am convinced once the SMTs are in and Neds proposed addition which shall serve as an outright solution to the "unhappiness with bid bots" the talk about bid bots shall die down and we shall all see that we should be proactive and constructive with our approach, looking for solutions to make Steem the dream it can and shall be!
PS, haven't heard anyone use that word in years, ref. to candour.

Thanks, Jack. I am still just a 2-month newbie here, so a lot of the technical talk still goes over my head. I just innately have always believed that anything that you do well should be paid well, and that short cuts short circuit any worthwhile effort.
