If you are an art lover, you have to visit The National Gallery of Art. It is a museum located on the National Mall opened to the public in 1937 with no admission. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sundays from 11 a.m. 6 p.m. This gallery has two buildings, one called the East where you can find modern art, and the other called West with contemporary art. They are linked underground where you can see great paintings of the world, Da Vinci's, Monet's, etc. and together they form one of the largest museums in North America. When you walk from one building to other, you are passing under the light installation which resembles the universe.

Museum's collection contains paintings, sculptures, photographs, medals and other pieces of art from the Middle Ages to the present. In this museum, you can see the only painting by Leonardo Da Vinci in America. Exhibitions in the museum display European and American decorative art, and also one of the two original sets of Thomas Cole's series of paintings "The voyage of life." There are over 75,000 prints and works from famous artists such as Rembrandt, Durer, Blake, etc. You can learn all about the paintings, browse among the objects you know and discover some new masterpieces. There are the Nineteenth-Century French Galleries where you can enjoy the work of the most famous painters in history: Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, etc. One of the most visited exhibitions is the Renaissance which is stunning. You can spend an entire day here and not see it all. It is recommended to see the Rococo art and architecture which is amazing. The whole museum is laid out by periods and nationality to make it easy to search for the favorite ones, or you can just wander around. In the East building, you can see special exhibitions which display the famous Jackson Pollock's "Mural." You can enjoy outside in the Gallery's Sculpture Garden. It is a beautiful garden with trees and walking paths with seating areas. There you can see 17 sculptures and relax by the fountain. If you get hungry during the visit, there is a Pavilion Café in the garden where you can take a rest and enjoy your lunch.

If you are interested in art, this is a must-see, and even if you are not, visiting this museum could change your mind.
