Museo de La Ciudad - An Attraction Rich with Ancient History

The museum opens the doors as part of the cultural development since 1989; the first owner was Mr. Leandro Barreto de Tábora. The objects that are in this place are donations of the Irapuatense. Although, in its halls of exhibitions it shows several collections from carriages of century XIX to the collection of arms of Abraham de la Vega Manzo.

In the museum, you can find various antique objects that have been part of the history of Mexico as Guns from the time of the Revolution and earlier, military uniforms, pre-Hispanic pieces, fossils, painting exhibitions, sculptures, among other things. Its construction dates from the eighteenth century and has a neoclassical style. The admission to the museum is free. The hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Although people knew the building that houses this museum as "the house of the Holy Inquisition," this fact has been demystified and the building. Built in the 18th century, the museum was a private house until the end of the 20th century. Now its rooms show Roberto Montenegro's oil paintings, murals, carriages from the 19th century and more. The exhibition of shotguns, rifles, white arms, swords and uniforms is unique in the country.
