An enclosed circular area constructed to showcase the thrilling basketball events, the Oracle Arena is the venue for the professional American Basketball League, the Golden Gates Warriors. These players are authorized by the National Basketball Association. Considered as one of the oldest showgrounds in NBA, the place was inaugurated in 1996. The name of this indoor arena was subject to major alterations because it underwent renovations a lot of times since its initial construction and design.

At present, the Oracle Arena has an indoor capacity of accommodating more than 19,000 fans for basketball and 17,000 fans of Ice Hockey.

Let us now look at the renovations the indoor stadium received after its construction in 1996:

At the time of its construction, the arena was a little encapsulated indoor showground with only 15,000 seating arrangements. Over the time span of thirty years, the indoor stadium becomes old-fashioned and lack the luxury features of modern and innovated ones. So, the Oracle arena authorities decided to invest millions of dollars in refurbishing the whole indoor stadium rather than changing the venue of the stadium by moving to a new building. The management authorities decided to construct a completely new and all-encompassing seating bowl in the arena through the expansion of the interior while the existing model of design remains untouched. Just like the KeyArena in Seattle was reconstructed, the Oracle arena authority decided to keep the walls, roofs and the foundation of the indoor stadium intact.

The refurbishment of the arena started immediately in the middle of 1996 and attained completion in the autumn of 1997. The Golden Gates Warriors who previously played in the San Jose Arena that was the venue for NHL sharks, from 1997 made the Oracle Arena their home.

The most significant aspect of the renovation of the arena was the inclusion of the new LED scoreboard and the portico 360 degrees display. The seating arrangement was increased from 15,000 to more than 19,000 for basketball fans and 17,200 for ice hockey cheering fans.
