Located in the Morro de São Bento, the Sanctuary is idealized by Benedictine monks, houses of seven chapels, and each is dedicated to a patron saint. The chapels are arranged in a semicircle, all facing the center, embedded in a quarry, thus being protected by the rock. Whoever came up with the idea of embedding small chapels in a quarry on the top of a hill was inspired. And it is exactly what you will experience when you visit the Sanctuary of the Seven Chapels, in Ribeirão Preto.

The Shrine Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal is popularly known as Sanctuary of the Seven Chapels. This is a charming complex of faith that was designed and built by the Benedictine monks, next to the Monastery of St. Benedict. Our Lady of Grace (built in 1948), St. Judas Tadeu (1951), Our Lady of Aparecida and Santa Terezinha (1954), are seven spaces of prayer, each with a unique architecture dedicated to a saint: , St. George (1955), Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Chapel of Penance.

Arranged in a semicircle, the chapels are facing the center of a clean and well-kept wide that invites to a walking tour and moments of silence and reflection. On-site, there is a small shop with religious items and candles to be offered. Already the stairways of the Chapel of Penance receive with fervor the devout knees of visitors who pay promises for a grace achieved.

The Sanctuary of the Seven Chapels is part of the Cultural Complex of Ribeirão Preto, which includes the São Bento Monastery, the Botanical Park, the House of Culture, the Arena Theater, the Municipal Theater, the Cristo Redentor, as well as streets, squares, the light source, and other sights. The place, which took almost ten years to complete, is composed of seven distinct chapels arranged in a circle. With different architectural styles, they honor Catholic saints. The first one, Nossa Senhora das Graças, dates back to 1948.
