Funny thing about Tampa is that the city has everything and you can’t miss visiting it, because it would be a shame not to tour around the city and enjoy!
Cities are known for so many things, but Tampa has something really special, the wonderful Courtney Campbell Trail.
It’s not a regular trail, it is a northernmost bridge that goes across Old Tampa Bay and goes all the way to the State Road 60 between Clearwater and Tampa.
It spacious 9.9 miles/15.9 km from eastern Clearwater to Tampa's Rocky Point island and then to the mainland of western Tampa. The topographical causeway is broken by two elevated spans that allow watercraft access to and from Old Tampa Bay.
It is quite a journey!

Another wonderful thing is that there are two beaches along the Causeway!
The Ben T. Davis Municipal Beach (on the east end) and unnamed beach that is owned by the DOT (on the west end).

If you are interested to read about the history of the trail, just visit the following link and check out the timeline -> https://www.railstotrails.org/about/.

Of course, you need a map! The following link will lead you to the map of the whole trail -> https://www.traillink.com/trail-maps/courtney-campbell-trail/.

The trail provides pedestrian and bicycle access beside the south side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway, along the way you can enjoy and be amazed by the views of Tampa Bay,
and see the connection between the Cypress Point Park, Skyway Park, and Ben T. Davis Beach.

I have to mention that because of its low capacity, low posted speed limits and that it has a lack of elevation coupled with the numerous palm and mangrove vegetation along the route,
the beautiful trail gives you something that you will never forget, the most vivid and high-colored views that you will ever see in the Tampa Bay area.

Don’t worry about parking, there is some available on the trail’s east end at the beach Ben T. Davis, the correct address is 7740 W. Courtney Campbell Causeway and also at the Cypress Point Park and Skyway Park, the official address is 3901 George Road.

Enjoy this trail walking or riding a bike with your friends, family or even alone, just living in the moment of the beauty that is given to the people for enjoyment and pleasure.
You can also take a break, bring some food with you and have a picnic! Take a bite, have a drink… just rest and enjoy.
If you want to visit the trail right way from the airport when you land in Tampa, well it’s your lucky day because it is located near the Tampa International Airport, precisely less than 5 minutes. How amazing!!!

It is a fun and beautiful trail that you have to visit. Don’t forget to take pictures!
