I'm a Sell-Out! (But Not Really)

in #anarchy6 years ago

I might as well also announce on Steemit the fact that I am now hoping to be oppressed by some opportunistic, greedy, profit-hungry capitalist who will exploit the fruits of my labor for his own personal gain. (Yes, that was sarcasm.)

In all seriousness, I think there is a really good opportunity for a win/win/win to happen here, which will: 1) allow some entrepreneur/investor type person (or team) to make heaps of cash, while; 2) spreading the most important message in the world, and; 3) better enabling me to work on new ways to demolish the cult of statism (like "The Mirror").

In short, I want someone else--someone who knows what they are doing--to take over the promotion, marketing, selling and profiting from my book, "The Most Dangerous Superstition." This video explains more:

Awesome.

While I unfortunately will not be able to come out as highest bidder with the funds I have, I do want to mention something important: It has happened in the past that valuable projects or paradigm-busters have been simply bought up by a large investor for the sole purpose of silencing them.

Will your contract include a guarantee, that this book will be kept alive at all?

Case in point: everybody remembers myspace. I stumbled upon the claim that Rupert Murdoch actually bought off myspace for whatever fairytale reasons, to 'continue the mission', to 'further improve the site' and so on, blablabla, according to Wikipedia anyway. And it's fairly evident to an independent mind what happened there.

While myspace may not have been a savior of humanity in the sense that your book can be, selling it conveniently got myspace out of the way for the facebook empire to emerge.
What a 'coincidence'! ;)

If you visit myspace today you will see that a) it's still online! and b) none of the alleged reasons for selling it to Murdoch were valid, but propaganda. It's a horrible site today, and to my mind only keeps existing to hold it down, as our friend 'Tom' was simply bought of, calling it something else to not lose ALL of his credibility in the public arena. It reeks!

And even 1 Mio dollars is nothing to some people in the machine who can see the revolutionary potential for humanity that is carried in your book. A rather small price to pay to keep everybody in line.

I am saying: Just be careful man. Your book is too valuable to be bought by some cartel higher-up and then quickly disappear forever due to a missing clause in the contract.

OR you manage to get such a high bid that it literally doesn't matter what happens to the book, because projects like "the mirror" might dwarf even "the most dangerous superstition".

Good luck and many high bids to you for your amazing work.

Yes, built into the agreement will be the condition that if they don't keep the book in print and available to the public, the rights automatically revert to me.

I love your style and message, Larken. I hope it is successful. I don't have a copy and if there's an easy for me to buy one in Australia, I'll buy it.

Why would/should someone take you up on your offer? Unless they see a legitimate chance of profitable gains, they won't do it. Don't mean to be negative here, but maybe if you could highlight some of the valuable information that this book could offer...

Did you watch the video? It doesn't sound like it. Yes, of course anyone doing this should have an expectation of making a decent profit.

Actually, I did. There can be many other ways of getting your message across other than just selling the book (and the rights to the book). You can try to share the content from your book by using some of the things that the books talks about in your future videos and writing.

you just made 37$ in 7 minutes! im sure you dont really need anybodies help. oh, and your video when should you shoot a cop is freken awesome!

It is truly a paradigm shifting little book. I hope this pans out well for you, and I hope whoever buys you out does a wonderful job spreading the word. That said, if you REALLY want a fat check, have you offered to let the Feds buy the rights to shut you up? lol!

I strongly suggest you make terms in the sale of rights that require specific performance, so that an entity intending to suppress the book doesn't simply buy the rights and do no, or but faint, promotion.

Yep, that will definitely be in there.

Why are you using another person's .gif? The image you are using clearly says @creatr which is not you. You should not be using his .gif like that and it comes off as spammy and dishonest. There is a chance that you are doing this by mistake, but please remedy that and do not use this image anymore as it is just misleading.
